The update triples mileage earnings for the same period. The 3x Mileage Event applies during the event dates, and players have to update the client to reach any of it.
How mileage works
Mileage is the loyalty currency players accumulate on purchases in the mobile shop, earning eight points per dollar spent under the standard rate. The balance is unified across the game’s planets and can be spent on all of them except Thor.
Points redeem for exclusive, limited-edition cosmetics, mostly costumes and titles, including Mythic-grade titles sold through the Mobile Shop’s mileage tab. Tripling the rate for the length of the event lowers the effective cost of those items for anyone spending during the window.
From Bifrost Gate to Reforged
Bifrost Reforged follows Bifrost Gate, the earlier event dungeon Planetarium introduced in update 200430. That version carried 12 collections and two event-exclusive materials, and it was built to feed players the rare materials they needed to progress through Hard Mode.
The Bifrost Gate collections handed out stat boosts aimed at higher-level play, structured along the lines of the earlier Ruby Dust Vault event. Completing all of them called for a mix of dungeon runs and package purchases. That release also raised buff caps, cut synthesis costs and fixed launcher issues on PC.
The new dungeon adds one collection over its predecessor’s 12, taking the count to 13. Planetarium hasn’t detailed how Reforged’s materials or rewards differ from the first Bifrost run beyond the collection total and the mileage promotion.
The game and its token
Nine Chronicles is Planetarium Labs’ decentralized MMORPG, built on Norse mythology and running on Libplanet, the company’s own Layer 1 engine. The mainnet went live in October 2020, and the game reached mobile roughly a year before its most recent roadmap.
Its economy turns on Nine Chronicles Gold, the in-game and governance token, with Wrapped NCG serving as the ERC-20 bridge to outside markets. Players stake NCG for in-game benefits including AP potions and hourglasses, and spend it on crafting, trading and combat. The whitepaper lists a total supply of 1,000,000,000 NCG.
Planetarium raised $2.6 million ahead of the token launch in a round led by Animoca Brands. The studio has since said it plans to ship additional games tied to the same NCG token and Libplanet tech through 2025, keeping the token at the center of a wider set of titles rather than a single game.
The client update is live now. Bifrost Reforged closes Aug. 23.
