The Other Games crew will take over this week’s Meet at the Clubhouse to walk through what it has planned for the Mutant Ape Yacht Club anniversary Saturday, Bored Ape Yacht Club said in a post Wednesday.
The team “is pulling up to talk about what’s happening in @OthersideMeta, what they’ve been building, what’s coming next, and what they have in store to celebrate the Mutant anniversary this Saturday,” BAYC said.

MAYC turns five this week. Yuga Labs released the 20,000-piece collection Aug. 28, 2021, splitting it between a public Dutch auction that opened at 3 ETH and a Mutant Serum airdrop that let Bored Ape holders mutate their existing apes. Half came from the auction. The other half came from serum, with each Mutant carrying its parent ape’s traits in mutated form.
The anniversary falls on a Saturday, which is Other Games’ standing weekly slot.
Who Other Games is
Other Games is a community-run event series inside Otherside. It runs races, hide-and-seek and what it calls chaos trials, and it has kept a Saturday 3 p.m. ET cadence.
The group traces its start to a broken bubble glitch and, by its own description, a couple of “internet idiots” deciding to play some games. It has since hosted at HyperX in Las Vegas and worked with outside brands.
Its activation list includes a five-a-side futbol format built inside Otherside, an in-person gaming setup for ApeFest and crossover nights with Okay Bears, the Dead King Society builder network and Ape Church.
First Deed and the dev kit
Other Games built “First Deed,” the first world made with the Otherside Development Kit. The canyon build was designed by the artist known as tropicalvirtual, who joined the group as its world builder and lead artist.
“I’m joining the @OtherGamesXYZ team as their official world builder and lead artist to oversee the next wave of emergent games on @OthersideMeta,” tropicalvirtual said.
The ODK is the same toolset behind Bathroom Blitz, an 8v8 shooter, and Outbreak, a zombie infection game in which one player carries the plague and has to infect the rest before a timer runs out. Outbreak wasn’t tokengated, a break from earlier experiences that were limited to Bored Ape, Meebits, Koda, Moonbirds and Voyager holders.
The kit ships with roughly 1,000 assets drawn from 29 in-game biomes and an AI assistant called Koda Agent, which lets users build 3D environments through text commands rather than code.
Where Otherside stands
Yuga opened the Koda Nexus on Nov. 12, adding a central hub with the Koda Temple and portals to the other experiences. Entry doesn’t require an Otherdeed or a wallet. A browser and an email address will do.
The company bought the Unreal Engine platform behind Otherside from Improbable in December, with much of the original engineering team moving over at the start of 2026. The deal included a perpetual license to Improbable’s high-concurrency multiplayer technology.
“Bringing all the tech and talent under one roof,” Greg Solano, Yuga Labs co-founder, said of the acquisition, adding that owning the stack internally lets the company move faster and put more into creator tools.
Solano has since moved to chairman. Michael Figge, previously chief product officer, took over as CEO.
Yuga has narrowed its focus considerably to get here, divesting CryptoPunks, Meebits and Moonbirds. On the roadmap for 2026 is Resources, a system meant to add land production, crafting and an active in-game economy, running on ApeChain with APE as the currency.
The Clubhouse format
Meet at the Clubhouse started as an X Spaces series and moved inside Otherside. BAYC held the first one in Otherside Bubbles on July 25, and Yuga used it to announce the metaverse would go persistent.
Yuga later expanded the venue to hold 500 simultaneous users, a fivefold increase, and added direct link generation for hosting meetups. Sessions this year have run Thursdays at 3 p.m. PT and are open to Club Members only.
The pitch on the sessions hasn’t changed much. As BAYC has put it, you never know who’ll stop by.
