The hardest puzzle in Hyrule right now isn’t in Hyrule at all. It’s a chunk of metal on your coffee table, and it’s rated a 6 out of 6.
The Legend of Zelda may have moved on from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, but a new puzzle game set should appeal to fans of both. Is it too early to feel nostalgic for BOTW and TOTK? That’s your call. Either way, this scratches the Zelda itch until a new video game drops.
It’s the Addison Sign brain teaser puzzle from Hanayama, available from various retailers including Amazon. If that one hooks you, there are also puzzles built around the Hylian Shield, the Triforce, the Master Sword and more.

Solving all the Addison Sign puzzles in TOTK was a memorable distraction, with Link using his Ultrahand ability to help Addison put up Hudson Construction signs all over Hyrule.
Can you still hear the sounds the poor guy made when he asked for help? I can.
That whole side quest chain from Tears of the Kingdom is now something you can attempt in the real world, with your actual hands, which feels like both a tribute and a mild punishment.
Don’t expect this one to go easy on you
Every metal puzzle from Hanayama gets a rating on a scale of 1 to 6, and 6 means the most difficult challenges the company hands out. You already know where this is going. The Legend of Zelda Addison Sign puzzle is rated a 6.

A 40th anniversary without a new Zelda
Here’s the strange part. This is the series’ 40th anniversary year, and 2026 hasn’t seen an original Zelda game release.
The closest thing is the Ocarina of Time remake arriving later this year. That’s genuinely something to look forward to, but it’s still a remake of a game most of us have already played (more than once, if you put time into the 3DS version).
There’s also the movie coming in 2027. None of the upcoming releases seem focused on BOTW or TOTK.
So the Wilds era gets its 2026 representation in the form of a metal knot you may never untangle. If you loved helping Addison plant President Hudson signs across Hyrule, or you know someone who did, this IRL puzzle set makes a very pointed gift.
And hopefully there’s a brand new Legend of Zelda game to get excited about in the coming months. Until then, you’ve got Ocarina of Time later this year and a difficulty-6 sign that refuses to stay standing.
