Konami has put out the last trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall, and the game itself lands on September 24. That’s this week. It’s coming to PlayStation 5 and PC, and if you’ve been following the teasers, this one plays like a closing statement.
The trailer runs about two minutes and leans hard into atmosphere, the same register every previous teaser has worked in. It puts the protagonist, Simon Ordell, front and center. The score does a lot of the heavy lifting here, and the whole thing works as an introduction to the world Screen Burn built together with Konami.
Simon is played by Jovan Adepo, who you’ll know from IT: Welcome to Derry, The Odyssey and Netflix’s 3 Body Problem. He’s not carrying the cast alone. Terry O’Quinn (Lost, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live) plays Richard, and Kezia Burrows (Observation) plays Zoe.
Trapped on an island, with a radio that’s more than a radio
The setup: Simon is stuck on St. Amelia, a Scottish island wrapped in the fog the series is known for. No mainland, no easy way out.
His main tool is a handheld device called the “CRTV,” which doubles as a radio and is set to play a major part in the story. Anyone who remembers what a crackling radio meant in earlier Silent Hill games will already be uneasy about that.
First person this time, and that’s the point
The biggest break from tradition is the camera. Silent Hill has always been a third-person series, and Townfall drops that for a first-person view. The reasoning is straightforward: it’s meant to push the isolation and the suffocating mood right up against your face.
You’ll run into enemies you can either fight or slip past, and story-driven puzzles carry real weight in how the game plays. It isn’t a shooter with fog on top.
Three days out, the fog on St. Amelia is about as thick as it’s going to get.
