In Brief:
- Content creator cagy posted on X that Sunflower Land (official site)’s Discord server appears to have been hacked and told followers to be careful.
- At the time of publication, Sunflower Land SFL $0.0635 ▼ -5.3% hadn’t publicly confirmed or denied a breach, and no other reports of the incident had appeared.
- Sunflower Land’s own documentation names discord.gg/sunflowerland as its only official server and warns players about impostors and fake links.
Sunflower Land’s Discord server may have been compromised, according to a warning posted on X by content creator cagy.
“Apparently the @0xSunflowerLand discord is hacked. Be careful.” cagy said.
Apparently the @0xSunflowerLand discord is hacked.
Be careful.
The post didn’t say how anyone got into the server or which accounts or channels were affected. It also didn’t say whether malicious links had gone out or whether any players had lost assets.
No confirmation yet
Sunflower Land hadn’t published a statement about the claim at the time of publication. No independent reports of a breach had appeared either.
That means the warning comes from a single post, and the post itself is hedged. It opens with “Apparently.”
Official channels
The project’s documentation lists three official points of contact: the website at sunflower-land.com, the Discord server at discord.gg/sunflowerland and a support center at sunflower-land.com/support. The docs say the community has more than 180,000 members.
The same docs warn that there are many scams and fake websites, and they tell players to click only trusted links.
An earlier warning from the team said impostors had posed as Sunflower Land support staff and asked players directly for access to their wallets. Some large Telegram groups called themselves support channels but had no connection to the project. Those groups asked members to connect their wallets or hand over their seed phrases.
The team said it communicates only through official channels.
Bots and fake accounts in 2022
This wouldn’t be the first time attackers have used fake community accounts against the project.
In August 2022, Sunflower Land developer Adam Hannigan said in a GitHub discussion that the game had issued more than 2,000 automatic bans after a botter tried to drain SFL from the game. He said the attackers created hundreds of fake Discord and Twitter accounts.
Hannigan said those fake accounts slowed the team’s review of appeals from players who said they had been banned by mistake.
Background
Thought Farm Pty Ltd, a company based in Sydney, Australia, makes Sunflower Land. The game runs on Polygon.
In 2025, the $FLOWER token replaced the original SFL token. The studio has also announced a separate browser game, codenamed Project II, that will use $FLOWER. It’s targeting a 2026 release.
As of publication, cagy’s two-line post was the only public account of the incident.
