Axie Vibeathon finalists announced
The Axie Vibeathon has advanced to its second round, featuring eight community finalists ready to refine their projects. This initiative aims to innovate by giving Axies new gameplay dimensions.
Finalists will receive 250 USDC each to support their efforts, with the full Round 2 guidelines set to release on October 9. The competition features a total prize pool of 20,000 bAXS.
Competition structure
The first round evaluated prototypes based on Axie Core integration (35%), gameplay quality (25%), product vision (20%), feasibility (10%), and the quality of prototypes and documentation (10%). This judging process included three independent scores for every entry.
The finalists, listed alphabetically, include a diverse range of game concepts:
Axie Auto Battler: Players draft Axies and engage in auto-battles, climbing rankings or facing waves of enemies in challenge modes.
Axie League: In this tower defense strategy game, Axies’ classes and body parts determine their roles and connections on the battlefield.
RPG Adventures with Axies: Create formations and battle strategies using Axies, with body parts influencing combat skills.
Team Up with Chimeras: Collect creatures and engage in turn-based combat, using each Axie’s evolved body parts for unique abilities.
Tactical RPG using Axies: Inspired by titles like Final Fantasy Tactics, this game uses Axie genes to shape characters’ combat skills.
Farming and Combat: Players establish farms, battling enemies to gather resources that improve their farming capabilities.
3D Tactical RPG: Featuring grid-based battles through Lunacia, players utilize their Axies’ genes for tactical advantages.
Roguelite Adventures: Follow character journeys through procedurally generated levels, leveling up as players progress.
Timeline and community engagement
Round 2 starts on October 11, with entries closing on November 7. The final showcase is scheduled for November 12. Finalists will use player feedback from early releases to refine their designs. Each finalist’s game will have a dedicated thread in the Axie Discord where community members can provide feedback.
“Tell them where you got stuck or what kept you playing. A specific observation gives them something to work with,” said the Axie team.
As the competition progresses, contributions from players can help shape the next generation of Axie games.
