In Brief:

  • Cambria (official site) initiates the minting of 4,096 Founding Charter NFTs on Ethereum, marking phase one of Cambria Genesis.
  • The 512 invitation-only Viceroy Charters began minting on October 7, with subsequent Charters available to Founding Citizens on an allowlist.
  • The project’s lead, Ben, announced plans for a $RSGP token and an incentivized testnet but did not specify dates.

New NFT minting kicks off for Cambria Genesis

Cambria is minting 4,096 Founding Charter NFTs on Ethereum, a shift from its current seasonal Gold Rush format to a persistent MMORPG under Cambria Genesis. The event’s first phase includes 512 Viceroy Charters available by invitation, which started minting on October 7. The remaining 3,584 Charters will be available to Founding Citizens on an allowlist, although pricing details for both tiers have yet to be revealed.

Ben, the project’s lead, stated that the Charter mint will precede the launch of the $RSGP token, followed by an incentivized testnet featuring a bug bounty. No date has been set for either event.

Cambria launched its current format on May 21, 2026, via Abstract, which will shut down in December. The existing game operates as a risk-to-earn dungeon crawler with limited seasonal events and has reported more than $43 million in cumulative game volume, including in-game credit recycled across rounds.

Transition to Genesis

On September 15, Cambria announced the transition to Genesis and introduced the Cambria Foundation to “steward and grow the Cambria protocol.” During a Discord AMA, Ben referred to Genesis as an effort to create “the first nation-scale game economy.”

According to the Genesis website, Charters play a key role in unlocking full earnings. Holders gain access to advanced zones, NFT loot drops, and a points system called Royal Favor, which converts into $RSGP. Charters must be staked to in-game Venues for earning opportunities.

After the mint, Charter traits will be revealed, including one of eight Houses, a home city, and role affinities. Charters can subsequently be traded.

Charter access and treasury mechanics

Joining the allowlist is based on a scoring system that evaluates players’ Cambria history and wallet activity on other chains.

Cambria reports that all Charters and existing assets, including 3,333 Island NFTs, will reside on Ethereum, but the blockchain for the $RSGP token remains undecided.

In Genesis, players deposit USDC, converting it one-to-one into Energy used during gameplay. This Energy feeds a shared betting pool for various encounters, with players returning with Gold that represents a claim on the pool. An exit fee applies when cashing out through a Realm Gate, and Cambria takes a fee from each transaction.

The betting pool is maintained in a one-to-one reserve. Cambria will also operate a treasury funded by various fees. All mint proceeds will contribute to a starting prize pool, which is divided into two funds: a Crown fund that pays yields to staked Charters and seeds new prize pools, and an $RSGP fund that ensures token liquidity at launch along with revenue-funded lootboxes for token holders.

“We’re building the infrastructure for a player-driven economy,” Ben said.
