In Brief:
- MegaCryptoPolis (official site) pivots to AI agents, allowing players to automate city management.
- Citizens will now complete tasks like finding jobs and trading resources without direct player intervention.
- New gameplay trailer drops on October 26, with varied AI support for decision-making.
Game changes direction
MegaCryptoPolis is shifting to an AI agent model, enabling players to assign goals to Citizens who will autonomously manage assets within the game’s economy. The transition moves beyond its initial gameplay, where couriers were responsible for deliveries and resource management.
AI-controlled Citizens
In the updated version, Citizens will take actions such as applying for jobs, producing and trading resources, and operating buildings. They will make decisions based on parameters like distance, time, stamina, and the competition from other Citizens. For example, an instruction might be, “Find the most profitable work nearby, preserve enough stamina to return home, and reinvest half your earnings.” Players dictate policies while AI manages the details.
Shift toward automation
This change transforms MegaCryptoPolis into a more dynamic environment, promoting economic activity without requiring players to commit extensive hours to gameplay. Players will have to cover the inference costs associated with using different AIs like Claude, Codex, Hermes, and OpenClaw.
More details coming soon
Additional information, including a trailer for the new gameplay, will be revealed on October 26. The pivot signals a significant evolution in how players will interact with the game’s virtual economy.
