If you’ve spent the past week dodging GTA 6 footage, you’ve got one more thing to dodge. The leaker known as Cyberleek has reportedly posted a new unauthorized gameplay video, and this one allegedly includes pieces of the story’s ending.

We won’t describe what’s in it. You’re welcome.

The timing matters as much as the video. Cyberleek is now suggesting the leaks are over, because the memecoin they built the whole operation around has cratered.

The coin that was supposed to unlock everything

Here’s the setup, in case you missed it. Cyberleek tied different gameplay leaks to the market cap of their memecoin, with targets ranging from $5 million to $25 million. The big prize was dangled at $30 million: a build of GTA 6 that the leaker claimed was over 200GB in size.

It didn’t get close. The coin peaked at a $7.8 million market cap on October 11 and currently sits at $1.2 million. With those numbers, the remaining targets are pretty much out of reach.

Fans celebrated the crash yesterday, and you can see why. They’d spent the past week telling people not to put money into the coin, pointing out that Cyberleek had already cashed out back in August and would likely do it again before GTA 6’s official release date (if they haven’t already). Analysis of cryptocurrency transactions in late August pointed to the leaker cashing out after earning around $270,000.

What the farewell message says

In a new message reportedly posted to their website, Cyberleek declared “the end of the road.” The post pushes back on accusations that the whole thing was a crypto scam and said Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, had been “punished enough.”

“The ending stays unpublished,” Cyberleek said in the message. The leaker claimed the newest video does contain clips from the game’s final missions but argued that, out of context, they don’t spoil the story.

Plenty of fans disagree, and they’re already muting keywords and steering clear of the usual corners of the internet.

The message also suggests the alleged 200GB build won’t be released, since the $30 million target was never hit. Cyberleek had said the money was going toward some mystery project, a claim a lot of people didn’t buy.

“Uploading 200+ GB anonymously is a serious risk,” Cyberleek said, “worth it only if the milestone funded the secret project.”

The leaker also said the memecoin should have been treated as a “donation” and not an “investment,” and took shots at “influencers” who framed it otherwise.

And then the sign-off: “The leeks stop here. For now.”

Take that “for now” seriously. Cyberleek could keep posting gameplay and keep the crypto scheme running anyway. They could even release the build they allegedly have. The more immediate problem is the spoiler risk from today’s video.

A week of alleged leaks, and a lot of skepticism

Before the crash, the past week was a steady drip. Several gameplay clips were reportedly leaked as market cap goals were met, including footage that allegedly shows Lucia fully naked and, more recently, an alleged “Lucia closeup 4k” video. Cyberleek then threatened to post a new unauthorized clip every day if the targets kept getting hit, and launched another gameplay poll designed to get people spending on the coin.

Fans have been skeptical of the nudity footage in particular. The videos that allegedly show both Jason and Lucia fully naked also show NPCs not reacting to the nudity at all. That suggests the effect came from a dev menu or cheats and won’t be possible in the finished game. An earlier leaked clip allegedly showed a tank spawning into the world, which also points to access to some kind of dev menu.

One fan theory holds that Cyberleek could get both characters into that state because at least one mission shows them naked, maybe at a nudist resort. That’s pure speculation. Nobody knows whether GTA 6 will officially show either character naked at any point.

How we got here

Cyberleek is the person or group behind the high-profile GTA 6 leaks that started in the summer. After a burst of leaks in August, Take-Two launched an investigation and issued subpoenas to companies including Discord as part of the search for whoever was responsible. Cyberleek then appeared to go quiet.

That ended last week with a 24-minute gameplay video that reportedly showed cutscenes, story beats, a first-person camera and playable characters Jason and Lucia naked (full-frontal, in Jason’s case).

It’s still unclear how the footage, or any build it may have come from, got out of a studio known for locking things down. What recent events do suggest is that Cyberleek is still at large and still defiant, legal threats or not.

Rockstar’s only official word on the leaks came in August. The studio said the situation was “heartbreaking” for its developers and “unfortunate” for fans, and acknowledged that the experience it intended for players “may now be impacted by some spoilers.” It also reaffirmed GTA 6’s previously confirmed launch date of Nov. 19.

Whether anyone gets caught may come down to Take-Two’s lawyers and the authorities getting social networks and crypto exchanges to hand over whatever personal details they have. Until then, the leaker’s last word on the matter is “For now.”
