More Flame for Nightmare holders
The team gave an early look at the event in its Lunacian Lounge recap, posted Oct. 14 on The Lunacian. It said that “for Halloween only, Nightmare Axies earn more Atia’s Flame.”
Atia’s Flame sets how much bAXS a plot earns. Every hour, each active plot’s Flame is measured against every other active plot in the same environment, and the plot is paid its share of that environment’s reward pool.
So a Flame boost for one Axie type changes how rewards split across a whole environment. Plots stacked with Nightmare Axies would take a larger share while the boost runs.
The recap said that if the Halloween boost works, the team may rotate boosts between Axie types, so each week plays differently. It’s described as a possibility, not a commitment.
Hosted plots and a higher level cap
The same recap covered hosted plots, which pair landowners with players who have Axies but no land. A landowner opens a plot, a player brings their Axies and both share the rewards automatically.
Landowners can set requirements for hosted plots, such as a minimum Atia’s Flame. That puts Flame-heavy collections, Nightmare Axies among them, in a better position to land spots during the event.
The team also outlined plans to raise the Axie level cap from 60 to 120. Getting from level 60 to 70 is expected to take about as much effort as the entire climb from one to 60.
How Terrariums got here
Terrariums went live June 17, replacing Homeland as the land mode. Players activate plots, assign Axies and earn bAXS each hour based on their Flame.
The mode has gone from V1 to V1.3 in a few months. Evolved part benefits went live in July, and V1.1 followed, bringing accessories, land items and Fortune Slips into the Flame calculation. Players can equip up to five accessories per Axie and place up to eight land items per plot.
V1.2 shipped Aug. 19 with Multi-Collectible Parts benefits and a Terrariums Estate boost.
The team announced V1.1 the same way it’s handling the Halloween boost. It posted a teaser on X the day before, then published the details on Substack at 9 p.m. Philippine time.
The Nightmare collection
Nightmare Axies came out of the Wings of Nightmare event in November 2024. Supply is capped. There can only ever be 39,000 Nightmare Parts and 1,500 Nightmare Bodies.
Nightmare parts can also be devolved using Dark Flame, so the number of Nightmare Axies in circulation can shrink as holders devolve parts. Both regular and Shiny Nightmare parts have capped supplies.
Holding Nightmare parts puts an Axie in the Nightmare Collection, which makes it eligible for Fortune Slips. Nightmare Axies already earned more Flame than standard Axies before any seasonal boost.
In its post teasing the update, Axie Infinity said: “Your Nightmare collections are about to do even more on your land.”
