In Brief:

  • Loot Survivor (official site) is adding PvP Dungeons: three players per table, with a new table every day for a week and more than $8,000 in USDC in prizes.
  • Entry is free. Sign-ups open Nov. 7 and the first tables run Monday, Nov. 9.
  • Until now, players competed in Loot Survivor mainly through leaderboards on single-player runs. This is the first time the game has put players head to head at one table.

Loot Survivor is bringing player-versus-player play to its dungeons. Each table seats three players, and the prize pool is more than $8,000 in USDC.

“3 players. 1 table. Over $8,000 in USDC up for grabs,” the official @LootSurvivor account said in a post on X. “PvP Dungeons are coming to Loot Survivor.”

The account said a fresh three-player table will open every day for a week. Entry is free.

Dates and format

Sign-ups open Nov. 7. The first tables are on Monday, Nov. 9, @LootSurvivor said.

The @StarknetGaming account amplified the announcement in its own post. It described the format as “3 players. 1 table. Only the best run wins.” That post gave the same figures, listing “$8,000+ in USDC up for grabs,” free entry and “A new 3-player table every day for a week.”

@StarknetGaming dated the opening of sign-ups to Nov. 7 and closed its post with a question: “Who’s taking a seat?”

Neither post explained how the USDC will be split across the week’s tables, how many players can sign up in total or how the three players at a table will be selected.

A change from solo runs

The PvP mode is a different way to play the game. Studio Provable Games built Loot Survivor as an arcade-style roguelike on Starknet. The original GitHub repository sums up the loop: “add some tokens, try to get the highscore and live for eternity onchain.”

Every run is different, and the game has no end. Each level gets harder than the last. Until now, players chased that high score alone and competed only through the leaderboard.

Loot Survivor runs on Death Mountain, an engine that its developers describe as a token-agnostic, no-code onchain dungeon creator. Provable Games’ documentation says every action, from combat to loot generation, is verifiable and deterministic onchain. All the contracts are open source and verified on Starknet.

How a run works

Adventurers have seven stats: Strength, Dexterity, Vitality, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma and Luck. They also have eight equipment slots. Combat is turn-based and uses a weapon triangle where Magical beats Brute, Brute beats Hunter and Hunter beats Magical.

Luck drives critical hits. Dexterity decides whether a player can flee. The game has 75 beasts, 75 obstacles and 101 items. Market prices depend on Charisma, and the game uses VRF for randomness.

Players collect the beasts they kill and earn $SURVIVOR tokens when they do. Provable Games’ Summit, a king-of-the-hill game, uses those Beast NFTs.

Background

The game launched on Oct. 31, 2023, alongside the original Golden Tokens. Golden Token V2 airdropped seven new ERC721 tokens to each of the 160 V1 holders, for a total supply of 1,120. Each V2 token gives its holder one free Loot Survivor game per week.

Loot Survivor also has a free practice mode. Standard mode works with any Starknet-compatible wallet, including Argent X and Braavos.

The new PvP tables are free to enter. The first of the week’s seven three-player tables runs Monday, Nov. 9.
