In Brief:

  • Funtico has replaced its TICO token with PLAYR and moved its ecosystem to Robinhood Chain, the studio announced on X on Nov. 8, 2026.
  • PLAYR launched on Uniswap v4 at a market cap of about $3.2 million, according to @funtico_com. TICO’s Avalanche balances were snapshotted at a $160,000 FDV.
  • External TICO holders have until Feb. 1, 2027, at 00:00 UTC to migrate. Funtico said TICO will no longer be used in any of its products or services.

Funtico has dropped TICO. The studio’s new token, PLAYR, is live on Robinhood Chain, and the old Avalanche token has been cut out of every Funtico product.

The @funtico_com account announced the change in a five-post thread on Nov. 8. “Funtico is evolving. TICO becomes PLAYR,” the opening post said, calling the switch “a strategic move to Robinhood Chain and the evolution of our native token.”

🚀 FUNTICO IS EVOLVING. TICO BECOMES PLAYR.
/1 Big things are happening at Funtico. We're taking our ecosystem into a new era with a strategic move to Robinhood Chain and the evolution of our native token, TICO -> PLAYR!
Why? Because we believe the next generation of gaming…

The account’s bio describes Funtico as “a game studio and publisher.”

Launch figures

PLAYR went live on Uniswap v4 and was “sitting at a ~$3.2m MC at the time of writing this,” the second post in the thread said.

Funtico said contract ownership has been renounced and posted a Robinhood Chain explorer transaction as proof. It said the liquidity tokens “will be burned next week.”

The contract address the studio published is 0x775FD5a987bf3ff5e205DEABDe6634ddceE3a3FC.

How the migration works

The process splits holders into two groups. Players already registered on funtico.com “just have to login and claim them,” the thread said.

Wallet holders outside the platform have to migrate. Funtico took a snapshot on Nov. 4, 2026, at 14:00 CET of all Avalanche wallet balances of TICO on AVAX. At the time of the snapshot TICO’s FDV was $160,000, the studio said.

The thread did not give a conversion ratio between TICO and PLAYR. Funtico pointed holders to migrate.funtico.com for the process and said live support is available there. The window closes Feb. 1, 2027, at 00:00 UTC.

The studio was blunt about what happens to the old token. “The TICO tokens will NO LONGER be used within any of Funtico’s ecosystem products and services,” the third post said.

What PLAYR is for

Funtico listed six areas for the token on Robinhood Chain. They include publishing infrastructure and onboarding new games and developers, plus esports markets run through Lucky Funatic that bring together “competitive gaming, outcomes, and token-powered participation.”

The studio also cited AI features, EVM compatibility with access to DeFi and trading apps on the chain, and “multiple buyback mechanics.” PLAYR’s role is set to expand across “gaming, rewards, earning, marketplace transactions, and ecosystem incentives,” the thread said.

A dedicated page at playr.funtico.com lists in-game purchases, marketplace transactions, micro-payments for AI inference, tournaments and a Publisher-as-a-Service offering for developers. It states that “50% of any purchased Bundle goes towards $PLAYR buybacks!”

The page says PLAYR can be bought on Uniswap with ETH or USDG on Robinhood Chain. Bundles accept USDC, USDT, SOL, ETH, BNB, BTC and AVAX. The page doesn’t publish a total supply or tokenomics breakdown.

Funtico said the page includes a DEX purchase widget and a “How To” section aimed at web2 users, covering every step from buying PLAYR to depositing it on the Funtico platform.

The pitch

The studio framed the move as a push toward publishing infrastructure and a wider audience.

“We don’t want to be just another gaming platform,” the thread said. “We want to double-down on the infrastructure that helps games launch, grow, monetize, and reach their full potential, while connecting players, communities, developers, and holders through one unified economy. All of this while expanding our horizon and business models towards the Web2 natives and monetization funnels.”

“PLAYR is more than a new ticker,” it said. “It’s the economic layer powering that vision.”

Funtico didn’t give dates for the new games, platform features, buyback programs and partnerships it says are already in place. The final post said they “will be showcased in future posts.”

Background

Funtico held the token generation event for TICO in January 2025. TICO launched as an ERC-20 on Avalanche C-Chain with a fixed supply of 10 billion and was bridged to Ethereum, Polygon and Base. Trading opened Jan. 27, 2025, on Gate.io, MEXC Global, BitMart and Uniswap.

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum layer 2 built on Arbitrum’s Orbit stack. It opened a public testnet in February 2026 and went live on mainnet July 1, 2026. Deployment is permissionless, so a token on the chain isn’t endorsed by Robinhood.

The thread drew three replies within hours. Its last post ended with an acknowledgment: “We appreciate everyone’s patience and support throughout the last couple of months – Funtico needed a new home to grow into and reach its true potential!”
