Gameplay overhaul in Den of Mysteries 2.0
Axie: Den of Mysteries 2.0 is now live, transforming the dungeon crawling experience for players. Developed by Onchain Heroes, this updated version replaces the outdated mechanics of the original, introducing a fresh approach to gameplay accessibility and replayability.
A new entry structure
The revamped Den features a turn-based roguelike format set across ten floors, culminating in a battle against the final boss, Kilnbane. Players can jump in without needing Axies or minting, simply requiring a Ronin Wallet for access. The cost of entry is now $1 per Key, reduced from $2, and players can strategically use multiple Keys to maximize rewards.
Earning opportunities and rewards
Each run not only allows players to gather Treasure, which contributes to a weekly prize pool but also offers instant payouts through Blessings and a chance to win exclusive rewards like the Throne and the Stella skin. The weekly prize pool distributes rewards based on collected Treasure, while running more Keys directly increases the loot potential.
Competitive incentives
The launch event features over $6,000 in prizes, including a $5,000 leaderboard pool. Players earn Shards by defeating enemies on the first floors, contributing to their leaderboard rankings. They can also collect raffle tickets by defeating Kilnbane—tickets become entries for prizes announced bi-weekly.
Points boost for quests
The recent update to the Bounty Board enhances quest rewards significantly. Points for completing tasks have been increased across all tiers, making it easier for players to climb the leaderboard and earn additional bAXS on top of their share from the weekly prize distributions.
Gameplay mechanics
Runs last approximately 10-15 minutes and are designed for quick session play. Players level up by defeating enemies, enhancing their characters’ stats, and acquiring Talents or Items to aid their progress. Each tier of the game has been designed to optimize player engagement, from collectible rewards to encounter strategies.
“This release not only revitalizes the gameplay experience but lowers barriers for entry,” a representative said. The ongoing updates promise continuous engagement as players navigate this thoroughly revised dungeon experience.
