That puts a name and a bloodline on assets that buyers have been holding blind since the drop. Chimpanions are companion collectibles meant to be discovered, collected, traded and equipped to a Chimp. Chimpers has said new ones will be introduced over time, starting with Crane Season.
The eggs came first
The collection opened in August 2026 with 222 items and a 5% creator fee. Until now the items have carried no art beyond a placeholder: listings show up as “Sealed Chimpanion Egg,” with two traits attached, Season and Status.
Distribution ran in two parts. One hundred Chimps won an egg, according to the project’s news feed, and 72 more minted out inside the first minute. Chimpers teased the drop earlier in the month with a post reading “222 Chimpanions Are Coming,” promising details the next day.
Koguma’s reveal is the first time any of the 222 has been tied to a named character, and the first confirmation that six distinct characters sit behind the eggs.
What the pouch does
The mechanism arrived before the collectibles. On Aug. 19 Chimpers announced the Adventure Pouch, giving every Chimp its own on-chain wallet, an ERC-6551-style token-bound account that lets the NFT itself hold assets rather than the wallet holding both.
The practical effect is that a Chimpanion equipped to a Chimp travels with it on sale. Chimpers has said the pouch can hold tokens, seasonal items and rewards alongside companions.
Where the collection stands
Chimpanions trade thinly. The floor sits at 0.349 ETH, about $878, with a top offer near $352.50 and roughly $1,047 in volume over 24 hours against about $14,000 total. Nine items are listed, or 4.1% of the supply, held across 174 unique owners, 78.4% of the collection. Asks on the few listed eggs run from the floor up past $190,000.
The main Chimpers collection is deeper. Its floor is 0.489 ETH, roughly $1,243.98 and down about 4.1% on the day, with a top offer around $1,073 and about $5,066 traded over 24 hours. Lifetime volume is $56 million. Of the 5,555 items, 527 are listed, 13.4% of supply, across 1,011 owners.
Background
Chimpers is a collection of 5,555 generative pixel-art characters on Ethereum, released May 18, 2022. Pixel artist Timpers started the project in July 2021 and built it out around art, lore and music, with the characters serving as a digital identity across what the project calls the Chimpverse.
The Genesis line Koguma is said to descend from predates all of it. One hundred hand-drawn 1/1 Chimps from 2021, brought to life, in the project’s telling, by burning the diamond fleece. Their floor is 5.80 ETH.
