In Brief:

Decentraland MANA $0.1043 ▲ +18% is putting 30,000 MANA behind a Halloween Wearable contest, the biggest piece of a program the platform is calling Halloweeks. The event started Oct. 5 and runs through Nov. 2.

Decentraland announced the program in a blog post published Monday. Its headline: “Halloweeks 2026: One Night of Halloween Was Never Going to Be Enough.”

Wearable contest

Submissions open Oct. 12 and close Oct. 26. The prize pool is divided among six categories: Slasher, Costume, Most Cursed, Creature Feature, Haunt Couture and Folklore & Legends. Each category pays 5,000 MANA.

“Every entry must be a published Wearable,” the post said.

Judges will score entries out of 100 points. Quality and technical execution counts for 25, as does originality. Theme fit and creativity and detail are worth 20 points each, and presentation accounts for the remaining 10.

“Winners will be announced on October 27,” the post said.

Genesis Plaza and the Cursed Pond

Genesis Plaza got a Halloween overhaul on launch day. New residents are handing out tasks for what the post called “haunted rewards.” Decentraland’s announcement on X also promised new mini games in the plaza.

A fishing event called the Cursed Pond opens Oct. 19 and closes with the program on Nov. 2. Players can earn “limited-time Halloween rewards, including a Wearable,” the post said.

Three film series

The Theatre will run three horror programs through the month, and most of the titles date to the silent and early sound eras.

WatchParty Wednesdays screens one classic each week at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. UTC. “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” (1920) opens the series Oct. 7, followed by “Nosferatu” (1922) on Oct. 14 and “The Old Dark House” (1932) on Oct. 21. “The Phantom of the Opera” (1925) closes it out Oct. 28.

Fridays belong to the Cult Horror Club, which shows double features at 5 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. UTC. The Oct. 9 bill pairs “I Bury the Living” (1958) with “The Little Shop of Horrors” (1960). On Oct. 16 it’s “Plan 9 from Outer Space” (1959) and “Beast from Haunted Cave” (1959).

“Hands of a Stranger” (1962) and “The Devil’s Hand” (1961) run Oct. 23. The club wraps Oct. 30 with “Werewolf in a Girl’s Dormitory” (1961) and “Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave” (1971).

The third program, The Veil, is a weekend anthology series. Episodes air at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. UTC on Oct. 10-11, Oct. 17-18 and Oct. 24-25.

Party on Oct. 27

DJ Severus7 will play a one-hour Halloween set at 8 p.m. UTC on Oct. 27 at the Genesis Plaza Theatre. The event is billed as Spooky Takeover Tuesday, and the Wearable contest winners will be announced during the set.

Entry to Decentraland is free. Users can download the desktop app or use the iOS and Android apps, then sign in with Google, Discord or email.

The program’s final weekend falls on Halloween. That’s when The Veil airs its last episode, built around Jack the Ripper.
