Fishing Frenzy rolled out Chapter 3 on May 14, its largest update to date, adding guilds, boss fish, a fish quality system, and a currency shift from RON to USDC across the game’s economy.
Guilds
Players can now create, join and leave guilds. A Guild Store is live for item purchases, and guild war is listed as coming soon with Gem rewards attached.
Fish quality and boss fish
All fish now carry a quality level that affects XP earned and the chance of encountering boss fish. Players use fossils to upgrade fish refinement levels, which in turn allow them to catch higher-quality fish.
Boss fish are a new encounter type that contributes to leaderboard score when caught but doesn’t award XP.
Currency switch
The game moved from RON to USDC as its default currency. RON diving switched to USDC diving with all odds and ratios unchanged. Store items, including standard and promotional packages, converted to USDC pricing. All existing Premium Diving tickets were refunded in RON.
Credit card purchases and gas sponsorship for on-ramp depositors were added as part of an improved fiat onboarding flow, though both are temporarily disabled due to third-party issues.
Onboarding and other changes
New players now receive five chests through an updated tutorial. Privy pop-up transaction signing was removed to smooth out the experience. The referral program shifted to reward milestones based on fishing level rather than Karma score.
The Pearl wheel pricing formula was updated, switching from average lifetime daily spins to average last-30-day spins. Cooking recipes were refreshed with 10 regular and 10 shiny additions. In-game Karma scores were recalculated based on recent gameplay activity, and wallet whitelist rewards were distributed for the Frenzy Wrapped and churned player reactivation campaigns.
