About Cosmic Royale
What is Cosmic Royale?
Cosmic Royale is a free-to-play battle royale karting game from Eden Games, set in a digital cosmos. Animoca Brands and Mocaverse logos appear on its official site. Instead of a straight race to the line, players race and fight on trap-filled tracks.
How to play
Each match puts players on one of more than 20 tracks, where they race and battle while dodging the traps built into the course. The site mentions several game modes but does not name them. Between races, players customise their karts with skins, upgrades and accessories, many of them tied to a seasonal Cosmic Pass. Players can also put a 3D avatar on their kart, and holders of a Mocaverse avatar can race as that character.
Platforms and access
Cosmic Royale is free on iOS through the App Store. On PC, a beta build is downloaded from the official site, and the game has wishlist pages on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The site does not mention a browser version. Web3 features include NFTs and account linking: the PC beta requires a Moca ID, and players link a Moca ID and a crypto wallet to their account. The site does not name the blockchain or describe a game token. Its main banner still refers to a beta that opened on 24 July 2024, so parts of the page are out of date, and the App Store listing is the clearest sign of current availability.
Our verdict
Cosmic Royale is a free-to-play kart racer that borrows the battle royale structure, running races as elimination-style scrambles rather than straight lap contests. It runs on Polygon and is listed under multiplayer, NFT battle royale and NFT racing categories, so the on-chain layer sits alongside the driving rather than replacing it.
The main thing in its favour is provenance. It comes from Eden Games, a studio with a long racing pedigree behind V-Rally and Test Drive Unlimited, now under Animoca Brands — that is a real development history rather than a token project with a game attached, and it shows in the emphasis on multiple modes and deep kart customisation. Polygon also keeps transaction costs low enough that on-chain items do not become a barrier at the entry level.
What is harder to judge from the outside is how much the NFT layer actually matters. Public material stresses chaos, speed and customisation but says little about what ownership changes in a race, or whether competitive players face buyers with better equipment. There is no published detail here on token economics or progression.
Best suited to players who want an accessible party racer first and blockchain ownership second, particularly on mobile-friendly, low-fee Polygon.
This is our own editorial assessment. We do not score games — ratings come from players.
