KOMPETE’s only golf course now has a back nine.
The v0.93 update went live on PC, iOS and Android and turns Sunrise Greens into a full 18-hole course, the KOMPETE account said on X on Oct. 4. According to the patch notes, the new holes add “a lake, bunkers and ridges,” and the scorecard now shows separate front and back nine totals.
A new KOMPETE update just hit on PC, iOS, and Android! Here's what's new:
Sunrise Greens goes 18 holes: a new back nine with a lake, bunkers and ridges, plus fresh commentary
Mix and match clubs: Driver, Irons and Putter are separate items now with skin slots, plus new
The developer also changed how the course plays. Drives now have a maximum distance. Holes that players could reach in one drive have been made longer, and the course now plays to par 72.
Clubs split into three slots
Club sets aren’t single items anymore. The update breaks them into separate Driver, Irons and Putter items, so players can mix clubs from different sets in the locker.
The patch adds golf gloves for all 16 club sets. It also adds 22 golf effects, covering ball trails, landing rings and putt lines. In its X post, the team said the new items are “all soon to be added to the store.”
New commentary and course dressing
Golf also got new commentary for the back nine and for full rounds. The patch notes said that commentary “lines that got facts wrong were rewritten.”
Every hole now has a sign showing its number, par and yardage, and the tee markers are new. Flags wave in the wind. A new flyover introduces the course and no longer gets skipped the first time a player loads in. When a round ends, the final scorecard plays the golf theme and the commentators sign off.
On mobile, players can now aim left and right in camera preview by dragging the right side of the screen. The patch also fixes a short freeze at the start of Hole 1 and a bug that hid the ball’s landing circle on iPhone. Aiming by drag no longer jumps on the first touch.
Boardwalk comes to Coin Pusher
Coin Pusher gets a new map, Boardwalk, set in a pier arcade with a Ferris wheel. A new intro shows the player’s character standing at the machine.
The patch notes describe the map as “not the Arcade, just something fun we made while testing new level pipelines.”
Coins now slide across the board rather than flipping over, and collecting them has its own sound. Fresh boards start with a neat grid of coins and a teddy bear prize. The update also fixes a bug where dropped coins disappeared once the board was full. The board now holds far more coins, and all of them save.
Blitz Royale gets faster
In Blitz Royale, the safe zone now starts closing eight seconds into a match. A “ZONE CLOSING IN” countdown and a warning sound come with it. Loot dropped by eliminated players now stays on the map for the whole match.
Other Blitz Royale fixes cover prison doors that opened onto solid walls and loot safes that were sealed off or floating. Parked cars on Mahzookoo no longer set off phantom explosions. Reviving a teammate also no longer cancels when the player looks away while holding the button.
Loading and mobile fixes
Across the game, matches now load faster behind the loading screen. Players can no longer get stuck on the LOADING PROFILE screen during sign-in, including when they sign in on a second device or reopen the game quickly. A new Character Voices volume slider in Settings also covers emote voice lines.
Several fixes are mobile-only. They stop characters and the lobby from turning gray on some iPhones and iPads, and they keep lobby music from going silent after a player leaves the app and comes back.
Kart Race got three fixes. The lap timer stops when a racer finishes, laps driven for a player after they finish no longer count toward stats, and the wrong-way warning sound works again.
Background
Modernize Games builds KOMPETE in Unreal Engine 5. The game is free to play and runs Blitz Royale, Kart Race, Golf and Coin Pusher modes on one shared account across PC and mobile.
Before this update, the KOMPETE Golf page listed Sunrise Greens at Solaris Country Club as a nine-hole, par 35 course measuring 2,996 yards, with 12 sand bunkers. The course is on Mahzookoo North, the same island used in the rest of KOMPETE.
The team dated the v0.93 patch notes Oct. 3. That came five days after v0.92, which was dated Sept. 28.
The notes end with the same warning the studio puts on every release: “This is an Early Access build. Things will definitely be broken. We push fast and hard.”
