Nexira, the platform that now runs Mavia’s marketplace, pushed the same message to alliance leaders, telling them to step up, rally their elite 8 and set their base.
What Season 1 actually is
Alliance War puts players into alliances that fight through seasonal battles, bank points and land a collective ranking at the end of the run.
Preview screenshots showed an Alliance War hub listing member counts, total points and past season placements. A gridded battle map sat alongside it, with zones claimed or assigned to players, which points to territory control as the core of the mode.
Mavia hasn’t published the rules. Matchmaking, scoring weights and reward tiers are still unannounced, which leaves the fee waiver as the most concrete detail attached to Season 1 so far.
The same preview carried a “War Season 1–4” frame, so the opening season reads as the first leg of a longer competitive cycle rather than a one-off event. Those war seasons are separate from the Level Rewards seasons that ran through 2025.
A long wait
The mode isn’t new on paper. Mavia’s roadmap update on April 14, 2025 listed the start of Alliance Wars in Q4, bundled with HQ 11, land trading and NFT crafting.
It slipped. The Aug. 3 date puts the launch more than half a year past that window.
Mavia has framed the mode as the layer that ties its other systems together, with persistent alliances and shared outcomes rewarding coordination instead of raw base strength. Earlier competitive formats like Ruby Battles leaned on mirrored conditions and clear scoring; Alliance War extends that to alliance-wide objectives.
The economy underneath
Nexira is the rebranded Mavia Marketplace & Exchange. MPEX launched in Q1 2025 and completed its move to Nexira DAEP on April 25.
Ruby remains the in-game currency and converts to $MAVIA, the governance token used to trade Legendary Items on the web marketplace and to vote on ecosystem decisions. The updated Ruby token is capped at 2.16 billion pre-minted tokens, distributed across six games inside the Nexira DAEP framework rather than Mavia alone.
That distribution shift matters for how much a season of Alliance War can pay out. Mavia hasn’t said what Season 1 rewards look like.
Esports side
The fee waiver is a break from how Mavia has priced competition elsewhere. Registration for the 2026 Global Tournament requires connecting a Heroes of Mavia game wallet holding enough ruby.
That event runs open qualifiers on best-of-three elimination, narrowing to a top 32 main event in double elimination. The grand final is best-of-seven. First place takes $3,000 and the runner-up $1,800, with smaller tiers below.
Alliance War Season 1 costs nothing to enter. Whether the second season does is another question, and Mavia hasn’t answered it.
“Gather your crew and get ready!” the game said.
