In Brief:

  • Splinterlands (official site) plans to launch Collector Achievements on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
  • Players will work toward completing card sets, collecting bloodlines and chasing “rainbows.”
  • Rewards come as ranked-play perks or land rewards, the studio said.

Splinterlands SPS $0.004017 ▲ +1.1% will launch Collector Achievements on Oct. 27, giving players rewards for finishing card sets and building out bloodlines in their collections.

The studio announced the feature Sunday in a post on X. The system asks players to “complete sets, collect bloodlines & chase rainbows,” Splinterlands said.

Completed achievements will pay out as ranked-play perks or land rewards. The post doesn’t say which achievements lead to which reward type.

What’s still unknown

The announcement linked to a separate details page. It leaves out the specific achievement tiers, the size of the perks and how land rewards will be paid.

It also doesn’t say whether achievements will be permanent or tied to a season. And it doesn’t explain what counts as a “rainbow.”

The launch date falls on a Tuesday, and the studio called that day the start of “the hunt.”

Built on the collection push

The feature follows Collector Binders, which Splinterlands added on July 7. Binders are public albums where players can show off cards they own, arrange pages, decorate them with stickers and add public notes.

Every account can claim one free Collector Binder. It comes with three pages and a soulbound year-joined sticker.

Cards placed in a binder stay playable and tradable, according to the game’s release notes. When a player puts a non-soulbound sticker on someone else’s binder, the sticker moves to the binder owner and becomes soulbound.

Bloodlines in play

Bloodlines have been a regular part of this year’s updates. On March 17, the studio moved all Leonine bloodline cards into the Feliform bloodline to match earlier cards.

On June 30, Splinterlands added Visions of Verico, a limited-edition mini-set of 54 common land cards. It covers all of the bloodlines for Toil and Kin land production bonuses.

Those land cards need 400 Regular Foil copies to reach max level, or 38 for Gold Foil. Black Foil, Gold Foil Arcane and Black Foil Arcane versions come already maxed.

Earlier in the year, the studio added a Bloodline Synergy option to the mobile Team Create filters. It also changed new-player onboarding so accounts without an avatar see the bloodline selection screen first, in place of the default human male.

Recent updates

The achievements arrive a week after another gameplay patch. On Oct. 20, Splinterlands made Kindred Spirit and Kindred Will abilities unable to be mimicked and added a ruleset called Equalized Armor.

Under that ruleset, every unit starts with armor equal to the highest-armor unit in play.

On Oct. 13, the studio opened its Hallows Fall event with new Spooky and Haunted skins. It also raised the Modern Bracket winnings cap from 2% to 4% starting with the second October season.

The free Collector Binder that every account can claim includes a soulbound sticker marking the year the player joined.
