Wilder World launches multiplayer in Wiami
Wilder World has rolled out its open-world multiplayer feature in Wiami, allowing players to share the same city space simultaneously for the first time. Players can now engage in real-time interactions, encountering others as they navigate routes and tackle Breaches.
The update introduces scalable Team Breach events, with loot determined by squad size. Forum Agents patrol city intersections, and players must strategize around blockades. New locations, City Storage and the Bank, further develop the on-chain economy, with City Storage serving as the master inventory and the Bank ATM facilitating the conversion of scavenged in-game WILD tokens into on-chain WILD.
Voice chat is now active, marking a significant enhancement in player communication. Positional voice capabilities are also in development. Vehicles have received an upgrade, enabling them to inflict damage on enemies, prompting Forum Agents to respond with pursuit.
The game features a randomized day and night cycle that syncs across squad sessions, enriching the gameplay experience.
Upcoming features
The complete core gameplay loop will include backpack inventory management, extraction at the Neural Station, and player-to-player trading at the Bodega Market. Players should prepare for the risk of losing equipped loadouts and session WILD upon death.
Future updates will enhance audio cues, refine proximity voice chat, and expand the map. Full City Storage and Bank functionality is expected in the next release, with a Steam launch and performance optimizations planned for later this year.
“The launch represents a new chapter for Wilder World, where players can truly inhabit a shared universe,” said an unnamed developer.
