81 Billion Shiba Inu (SHIB) Traded in 24 Hours, and There’s Hope

Shiba Inu just had the kind of day that makes chart watchers sit up. About 81 billion SHIB changed hands in 24 hours, and more of it left exchanges than arrived. The price held at $0.00000514, up 3.92%.

That’s a good day. One good day doesn’t make a recovery, though, and the year-long numbers still look bad.

Coins are leaving the exchanges

The key number is netflow: coins coming onto exchanges minus coins going out. It came in at negative 32.76 billion SHIB, so the outflows won.

Holders tend to pull tokens off exchanges when they plan to hold them in private wallets, not sell them. So a negative netflow often points to less selling pressure. Often, not always.

The reserve chart backs this up. Total SHIB on exchanges dropped sharply in the middle of the last seven days and hasn’t recovered. It now sits at 87.09 trillion tokens and moved just 0.02% in 24 hours, so the drop is holding.

More wallets showed up at the same time

Outflows alone can mean one whale tidying up. This time, network activity rose with them. Active addresses grew 1.01% to 165,200, and the chart shows a clean jump at the end of the period.

More people using the chain while coins drain from exchanges is a healthier combination than either signal by itself.

On price, SHIB climbed from a low near $0.00000494 and now trades near the top of its daily range. Zoom in to four hours and it’s flat, down 0.10%.

The longer chart is still ugly

This is where the optimism needs a reality check. SHIB is down 15.31% over 180 days, 25.50% this year and 50.19% over one year. Anyone who bought 12 months ago has watched half their position disappear.

The one bright spot is a 24.23% gain over 90 days, which suggests buyers are slowly coming back.

Derivatives traders barely showed up

Leverage played almost no part in this move. Liquidations totaled only $28,800 in 24 hours, and $26,230 of that came from shorts. Bears took more of the damage than bulls.

On OKX, the long/short ratio is 2.79, so traders there lean long. But futures volume is thin: $9.01 million on OKX, $7.60 million on LBank and $5.16 million on MEXC.

That cuts two ways. A rally without much leverage behind it is less likely to unwind in a cascade of liquidations. It also means nobody is betting big on it.

What would break the bullish read

I’d watch two things. The first is whether netflow stays negative for several days, because a single big day may just be one large wallet moving funds. The second is whether the exchange reserve starts climbing, which could mean holders are sending coins back to sell.

If outflows keep going, SHIB could attempt a move toward $0.0000052, the top of its recent range. If it falls below $0.00000494, the hopeful case is off.

Right now the data leans positive. Still, a 3.92% bounce on light futures volume is a long way from a recovery, and SHIB needs more volume and steady buying before that $0.0000052 ceiling becomes a realistic target.
