In this exclusive interview, Meltoid spits it out with Spitfire MvB, creator of the Enjin Beam Club channel, to discuss the evolution of Enjin’s ecosystem, the power of QR-based NFT distribution, and what the future holds for Web3 gaming communities. (BTW this has gone through an AI filter, but due to time constraints tbh it’s easier these days, copy, paste, filter, and edit once:) Also excuse the featured image, but Enjin has been creating for a while!

Meltoid: Hey Spitfire! Great to connect with an OG in the Enjin space. For our readers who might not be familiar, can you tell us what got you into Enjin originally?

Spitfire MvB: I originally discovered Enjin through gaming, specifically Lost Relics (also known as Forgotten Artifacts). It really caught my attention at the time. The idea of truly owning digital items – not just inside a game account but actually on the blockchain – fascinated me immediately. Enjin was one of the first players to make gaming and NFTs feel tangible and real.

Meltoid: That’s a great entry point. Did you create any blockchain legacy items back in those early days?

Spitfire MvB: Unfortunately not. At that time, I was mainly focused on playing as many Enjin ecosystem games as possible and experiencing the platform as a gamer.

Meltoid: It was a fun period of collecting and understanding how these blockchain items worked across different games. Speaking of evolution, what are your thoughts on Enjin’s journey from Ethereum to JumpNet to now the Enjin Blockchain and Relay?

Spitfire MvB: The evolution has been interesting to watch. Ethereum was important for credibility and security. JumpNet was a logical step back then to eliminate high gas fees and make mass adoption easier. Moving toward its own ecosystem with the Enjin Blockchain and Relay shows they want to scale independently in the long term.

It has definitely been an evolution from NFT pioneer to a dedicated Web3 gaming ecosystem, even if the journey has not always been easy.

Meltoid: Let’s talk about your Enjin Beam Club channel. When did you start it and what was the inspiration?

Spitfire MvB: The Enjin Beam Club channel was started during the early Beam hype phase, when it became clear that Enjin Beam was more than just a gimmick. The idea was to collect all QR drops and give our community a central place to find them.

Meltoid: A scattered tribe needs a hub 🙂 Do you remember what the first QR code you shared was?

Spitfire MvB: That’s a good question! It was probably one from Scottie or Tokra, who were very active at that time. It was never really about the value – it was about the experience of scanning, claiming, and collecting. That moment when you scan a QR code and suddenly have a new NFT in your Enjin Wallet is still magical.

Meltoid: Remember the pixel cats or Cats in Mech? So many eh. What’s been your favorite Beam drop over the years?

Spitfire MvB: Definitely all Multiverse Beams;-) Multiverse items showed the real potential of Enjin for me. Assets that do not just exist in one game, but can function across an entire ecosystem.

Meltoid: Cross-game interoperability is what Web3 gaming should be about. Where do you see the Beam ecosystem right now in terms of showcasing and community activity?

Spitfire MvB: Right now there are renewed efforts to grow the community again through gaming events. There are still several artists who actively contribute and bring new creations to the community every day. However, the spirit from a few years ago is somewhat missing, that early pioneering energy and excitement.

Meltoid: I think Enjin could be in a different phase now, as the Enjin Platform continues to evolve. What do you think Enjin Beam does really well?

Spitfire MvB: Enjin Beam has huge potential to make NFTs accessible to a broad audience through simple QR codes, even for people who have never interacted with Web3 before.

Meltoid: Knowing that it can potentially create a simple bridge between the physical and digital world via NFT. Where do you think it could improve?

Spitfire MvB: Adoption for the broader mass market is still the main challenge. To reach a wider audience, it needs more real-world use cases, stronger partnerships, and even simpler onboarding. The world needs to know Enjin is there.

Meltoid: Yeah definitely, those “wow” moments that make people understand why this technology matters is why I started following. Technology even if you complain about its short givings, for many it has offered a community beyond. The Enjin community has shown incredible staying power. Why do you think people stick around?

Spitfire MvB: The Enjin community is extremely resilient. Many members have been around since 2017 or 2018. It is less hype driven and more builder driven. The people who stay truly believe in long term gaming adoption and the vision behind the project.

Meltoid: We’ve weathered multiple crypto winters and are still here buidling. Looking ahead, where do you see Beam in one year?

Spitfire MvB: I hope that within a year Enjin Beam will have found truly practical real world applications that delivers clear value to customers. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

In Summary: The fundamentals of what made Enjin special – true digital ownership, cross-game assets, and accessible Web3 experiences are still as relevant today as they were in 2017.

Enjin knows Web3. Whether you’re a gamer, developer, or business owner, there’s never been a better time to explore what blockchain gaming can offer.
