Lost Relics

What is Lost Relics?

Lost Relics is an action-adventure role-playing game whose three-word summary from the developers is: battle, loot, survive. Players take on deadly adventures, fight terrifying enemies and dig out treasures of considerable value — some of which are blockchain items that can be sold to other players. It is a downloadable PC game and accounts are tied to Epic Games logins, which puts it closer to a conventional indie ARPG than to most things in this category.

How to play Lost Relics

You choose a loadout and enter an adventure, and the tension comes from what you are carrying. Rare blockchain items found in a dungeon are only yours once you get out with them; dying can cost you what you found. Around the core loop sit progression systems the game has built out over years — Valor, Expeditions, seasonal content such as Waygate Orbs and Breach experience, plus a substantial cosmetic layer of virtual outfits, pets, morphs and collectibles that are separate from the loot economy. Leaderboards track the players clearing the hardest content.

What makes Lost Relics different

Longevity, mostly. Lost Relics has been running and shipping updates for years while most of its 2021-era contemporaries went quiet, and it retains an active streaming community — Twitch and YouTube creators were posting Lost Relics content through 2026. The design decision underneath that is restraint: only some items are on-chain, the rest of the game is an ordinary ARPG, and the loot economy is a layer on top rather than the reason the game exists. That is why it plays like a game first.

Item values depend on a player-driven market that can fluctuate
No public detail available on pricing, token, or free-to-play entry

Our verdict on Lost Relics

Lost Relics is a single-player action-RPG for Windows built by a solo Australian developer, Cliff Cawley, and it is one of the older surviving Enjin-based projects rather than a recent launch. The loop is Diablo-style: pick a character, enter a procedurally arranged dungeon or wilderness zone, fight through it, and try to walk out alive with whatever you found. The blockchain hook is narrower than most descriptions suggest — the vast majority of loot is ordinary off-chain gear, while a small pool of blockchain items drops rarely, and those are the only things you can move to a wallet and sell.

What works is the scarcity discipline. Because on-chain drops are genuinely uncommon and can be permanently lost when you die in the wrong place, a run carries real tension that most token-driven games never generate. Development has also been unusually persistent, with the game iterated on for years rather than abandoned after a token sale.

What does not work is presentation and depth. Combat is functional but stiff, the art and animation show their small-team origins, and the content pool thins out once the early novelty passes. There is no meaningful multiplayer world to fall back on.

It suits players who want a low-key loot grind with genuine ownership stakes, and who are patient with rough edges. Anyone expecting a polished modern ARPG, or steady earnings, should look elsewhere.

This is our own editorial assessment. We do not score games — ratings come from players.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start playing Lost Relics?
Create an account and download the game client from the official site at lostrelics.io, then begin exploring the game's dungeons with your starting character. Your progress and character are tied to your Lost Relics account.
Do I need a crypto wallet to play?
You can play the core game without connecting a wallet, since the account itself holds your items. A wallet is only needed if you want to withdraw blockchain-backed items out of the game to hold or trade them yourself.
How do players earn in Lost Relics?
Earning comes from loot: rare blockchain items dropped by monsters, chests and dungeon runs can be withdrawn from the game and traded with other players. There is no guaranteed payout — income depends entirely on what you find and what other players will pay for it.
Is there an official Lost Relics token?
Lost Relics is built around tradable blockchain items rather than a single game currency token you buy. The in-game economy runs on the items themselves, so value sits in the gear and relics you collect rather than in a project coin.
Is Lost Relics still active?
The game is still available through its official website, where the developer posts client updates and news. Because the project is run by a very small independent team, the pace of updates and the size of the player base are worth checking on the site before investing time.
