KOMPETE Golf has officially launched in early access across PC, iOS, and Android, fulfilling a promise made since the game’s inception. This free-to-play multiplayer experience adds golf to KOMPETE‘s lineup, which already includes several competitive sports. The simultaneous release across multiple platforms aims to maximize player engagement from day one.
Early access features
The early access version opens with a driving range, allowing players to hone their skills before the full courses become available. A clip showcased the range’s features, highlighting wind conditions, distance tracking, and a leaderboard for longest drives, with one impressive drive recorded at 242.9 yards. Competitive players can immediately engage with the driving range’s mechanics.
Game mechanics and customization
KOMPETE, developed by Modernize Games and built on Unreal Engine 5, is set in the shared world of Mahzookoo Island. Players, known as KOMPETITORS, can customize their avatars in over 80 ways, tailoring traits for various game modes. A player-build progression system requires players to develop their characters before entering matches, balancing strengths and weaknesses per playstyle.
Cross-economy model
KOMPETE stands out with its cross-economy design, merging traditional gaming and web3 elements. The game promotes fair monetization, encouraging cosmetic trading without affecting competitive balance. Players earn XP through Chapter Tickets and Fame rewards to unlock cosmetics. Rare items can be purchased using Ethereum or the in-game currency VOOLAH.

Cosmetics can be converted into ERC-1155 NFTs for trading on the Bazaar Marketplace. The initial token supply was set at 1 billion, with 150 million burned in June 2022, resulting in an active supply of 850 million.
