In Brief:

  • Sky Mavis ships Terrariums 1.1 on July 22, letting accessories, land items, evolved parts and Fortune Slips all feed a plot’s Atia’s Flame, the score that sets its cut of bAXS rewards.
  • The update arrives about five weeks after Terrariums V1 launched on June 17, and it turns dormant Axie assets into working inputs for the first time.
  • Co-founder Jeffrey Zirlin announced the date, saying rarer accessories and deeper collections “will burn brighter.”

Sky Mavis rolls out Terrariums 1.1 on Tuesday, wiring accessories, land items, evolved Axie parts and Fortune Slips into the calculation that decides how much bAXS each plot earns.

Co-founder Jeffrey Zirlin confirmed the July 22 launch. “Terrariums 1.1 goes live tomorrow, July 22nd!” Zirlin said.

The change is to Atia’s Flame, the score that determines a plot's share of the reward pool. In V1, that number came almost entirely from the Axies a player assigned to the Atia Shrine. Now four more asset classes count.

What accessories do

Each accessory raises an Axie’s Atia’s Flame directly, scaled to the item’s rarity and the collection behind it. Players can equip up to five per Axie.

“Each Accessory will raise your axie’s Atia’s Flame. Rarer Accessories and deeper collections will burn brighter,” Zirlin said.

Accessories work in both modes. In the Shrine they push Flame; while an Axie rests, they speed up its AXP. “Resting axies with Accessories equipped will earn AXP faster,” Zirlin said.

There are limits on what fits where. Spiky, Wetdog, Bigyak and Nightmare body types can’t equip hip accessories. Curly can’t take cheek accessories, and Frosty can’t take neck or hip.

Land items get a job

Land items were decoration and nothing else for years. In 1.1 they raise both Flame and AXP. Players can place up to eight per plot, and the AXP bonus climbs by rarity, from 1% at Common to 4% at Mystic.

“Decorate your land!” Zirlin said.

Evolved parts arrived ahead of the rest, going live around July 15. They add Flame by rarity, and the math rewards concentration: five evolved parts on a single Axie hit a ×1.45 multiplier and stack their Flame, while spreading one part each across five Axies leaves every one at ×1.0.

Fortune Slips round out the update as a temporary buff. Spending them adds a 10% Flame boost to a plot for 24 hours. The boost doesn’t stack, so extra purchases extend the timer rather than the strength, and buffs apply per plot. Players earn slips by holding a collectible Axie and praying to Atia daily.

A sink for old assets

The combined effect is that Terrariums stops being a pure passive-earning system and starts pulling more of the Axie economy into one loop: land, collectible Axies, accessories, evolved parts, land items, Fortune Slips, Lunium and bAXS. It also gives owners a reason to touch assets that had been sitting idle.

Terrariums runs on an hourly Tick. Every hour a plot burns Lunium, mints bAXS and keeps going while the owner is away. Axies in the Shrine make Flame and earn bAXS; those left in the Dojo train for AXP. Rarity swings the Flame output hard, with Mystic Axies generating 200 times more than commons. Owned plots hold 30 Axies, free plots 10.

Sky Mavis built Terrariums as a reset after shutting down Homeland, its earlier land game. V1 pulled in $95,753 in its opening week.

It still isn’t a full land game, and Sky Mavis hasn’t called it one. The point of 1.1 is narrower: make the stuff players already own count for something on the plot they already have.
