Sky Mavis updates Terrariums
Sky Mavis is back with Version 1.1 of Axie Infinity: Terrariums, just two weeks after debuting its new land-based earning system. The update brings enhancements aimed at integrating various Axie ecosystem assets into gameplay mechanics.
The headline change includes the incorporation of accessories, evolved Axie parts, land items, and Fortune Slips into the Atia’s Flame score, determining each plot’s share of bAXS rewards. Previously, only the Axies assigned to a plot contributed to this score. Now, evolved parts will add Flame based on rarity, and accessories will scale rewards depending on both their rarity and the Axie wearing them.
As for land items, they’ve long been merely decorative. With the new update, players can place up to eight items per plot, enhancing both Flame and AXP earning potential. Rarer items yield larger boosts.
Fortune Slips are also integrated, allowing players to activate a 10% Atia’s Flame buff for 24 hours. The cost of this activation varies based on land rarity, creating a tiered system impacting gameplay.
Initial metrics from Terrariums reveal approximately 3.32 billion Lunium sold within the first week, generating $95,753 in revenue, distributed in ETH, USDC, AXS, or bAXS. Over half of the 16,886 land plots—52.8%—have been activated and locked, contributing to $520,551 in collectible trading volume and $193,316 in land volume.
On July 2, Sky Mavis will implement a quality-of-life update that allows local Lunium to regenerate while using Global Lunium. This change aims to mitigate some costs associated with Global Lunium and improve the game’s reward interface.
With these adjustments, Terrariums is transitioning from a basic passive earning system to a more interconnected gameplay layer. While it is not yet a complete land game, Version 1.1 marks a significant step in integrating the Axie economy. As the project continues to evolve, it faces ongoing pressure to fulfill its commitment to meaningful land gameplay.
