Onchain Heroes unveils Axie: Den of Mysteries 2.0
Onchain Heroes launched Axie: Den of Mysteries 2.0, revamping the dungeon crawler with ten-floor runs, character development, and a climactic battle against boss Kilnbane. The cost of entry keys has been halved from $2 to $1, and a new competition boasts over $6,000 in prizes.
The turn-based roguelike is accessible on both desktop and mobile. Each dungeon run lasts between 10 and 15 minutes. Players must have a Ronin wallet but do not need an Axie NFT to participate. A shared lobby enables access to in-game features, social interaction, and cosmetic displays.
Each dungeon run consists of nine procedurally generated floors followed by the boss encounter. Players collect Treasure and develop their characters through levels and Talents. The amount of Treasure determines their portion of a weekly USDC prize pool, while defeating Kilnbane unlocks extra rewards.
Keys can be purchased using USDC, RON, WETH, or AXS. One key initiates a run, but players can use up to 100, increasing both their Treasure yield and Blessing payouts proportionally. For instance, a single key run generating 100 Treasure would yield 500 Treasure with five keys.
Purchasing keys allocates funds to three reward pools. Seventy percent goes to the weekly prize pool, which is settled every Thursday at 4 PM UTC. An additional 18% supports Blessings, while 5% contributes to the progressive Throne pool. The final 7% is directed toward ongoing development.
Defeating boss Kilnbane gives players a 12% chance of receiving a Blessing Gem, which is revealed post-run and can multiply their key commitment by up to 21 times. For a 100-key run, the maximum payout could reach 2,100 USDC.
The Throne prize adds another dimension. Players must defeat Kilnbane and exit the lair to qualify for a roll. Runs left open at the weekly reset will not count. Winners obtain 80% of the accumulated pool and the exclusive Stella skin, while 20% funds the next Throne.
Winning odds vary with key spending and pool size. At a $2,500 pool, chances range from about one in 2,000 for one key to one in 20 for 100 keys.
The Reborn Launch Event runs until October 22. A $5,000 leaderboard pool rewards top 100 Shard collectors with equal distributions in USDC and AXS. Shards drop on the first eight floors and accumulate without a cap during the event.
Kilnbane also awards one raffle ticket per key used. Players can submit tickets at the lobby’s Raffle Board, where draws occur on September 24, October 8, and October 22, selecting five winners each time. Prizes include $500 in Axie Land items, 15 Ronke PFPs, and $500 in RONKE rewards.
The update also enhances the Bounty Board points awarded for quests in Den of Mysteries across all tiers.
