Axie Vibeathon opens for game developers
The Axie Vibeathon has officially launched, inviting developers to create playable Axie games. This competition offers a prize pool of 20,000 bAXS, distributed among winners, finalists, and standout entries.
Participants can register until September 7. After signing in with a Sky Mavis account, developers can build their games, host them independently, and submit their links. The first round runs from September 8 to 21, with up to eight finalists advancing to a second round from October 4 to 31. Winners will be announced on November 5.
Building with AI tools
The Axie Vibeathon is designed for both novice and experienced developers. AI coding tools will assist participants, allowing them to focus on game concepts without needing extensive programming skills. Each participant must work individually to create one game, with the goal of producing an engaging playable experience.
The competition includes strict eligibility and safety screenings for all entries. Valid submissions receive scores from independent judges, determining which candidates move on to the finals.
Resources available
To support builders, the event offers a Builder Resource Kit, including Axie assets, engine guides, and Discord support. The Get Started guide walks participants through ideation to game submission, catering to developers at all levels.
Additional support includes 250 USDC in AI tool funding for each Round 2 finalist, encouraging further development and integration into the Axie ecosystem.
This inaugural Vibeathon aims to shape future game development within the Axie community, establishing a foundation for subsequent iterations. “What you build here shapes what comes next,” the announcement stated, highlighting the potential for winning ideas to evolve into official Axie games.
