In Brief:
- Tollan Universe turned on two features at once: a Loot Pass for earning Abstract Stamps and a gated mode called Champions’ Arena.
- The share of Crowns feeding the Weekly Pool and Jackpot moved to 85%, up from the 75% combined split the game had been running.
- The update also splits play into Competitive and Casual modes, each with ETH and Crown prize pools.
Tollan Universe raised the cut of Crown spending that flows back to players to 85%, the studio said in announcing that its Loot Pass and Champions’ Arena are live.
That figure is the headline number in the update. Tollan’s documentation had put the split at 50% of all Crowns spent going to the week’s prize pool and 25% to the Jackpot, or 75% between them. The announcement didn’t break out how the new 85% divides across the two pools.

What the Loot Pass does
Tollan described the Loot Pass as “a more efficient way to earn Abstract Stamps,” the ecosystem points players accumulate through runs. It didn’t publish a price or a duration.
Stamps have been a draw for Tollan since launch, and the team has used them as a lever before. In its Week 16 update, announced April 10, the studio doubled Abstract Stamps from bonus enemies and chests, raised the Jackpot to $15,000 and extended ETH rewards to the top 150 players on the Powerboard.
Two modes, one gate
The update adds Competitive and Casual modes, both carrying ETH and Crown prize pools. Tollan had previously run a free Practice mode with stamp rewards alongside Seasonal play and weekly leaderboards.
Champions’ Arena sits behind a gate. Players enter after clearing 15, according to the post, which stops short of detailing the rest of the entry requirement or what the Arena pays out.
Crowns remain the in-game currency. Players buy them with ETH or earn them through quests and social features, and the portion that isn’t recycled into the pools covers the rest of the economy.
The numbers behind the pools
Tollan publishes weekly results, and they give a sense of what the percentage change is actually moving. For Week 17, reported April 27, the studio said more than $13,500 was paid out across prize pool, jackpot and referrals. It counted 35,335 reward chests dropped, including free Stamp Boxes, 253 jackpots claimed and 7,994 runs played.
The following week opened with $19,000 growing across the Jackpot and Prize Pool.
Those pools scale with spending rather than sitting at a fixed size. The weekly prize pool starts at 1 ETH and grows as players buy Crowns, which is why the 50/25 split and now the 85% figure matter more than any single week’s posted total.
Background
Tollan Universe launched on Abstract on Dec. 1, 2025, and runs free-to-play on PC and web. It’s a bullet-heaven roguelike: survive as many enemy waves as possible per run, pick up and upgrade elemental powers, activate shrines and kill bonus enemies for a higher score. The setting is a sci-fantasy world built around Tollan Peak, where humans fight orc hordes using elemental and mycelium powers.
The game uses Proof of Play’s verifiable randomness system for the random elements of a run, which covers chest drops and jackpot rolls.
Monetization has shifted more than once. Early seasons sold a Gold Pass for 500 Crowns that was required to enter the Season 1 event and included five free Crystals daily plus 10 Crystals on purchase. Later seasons replaced it with a VIP Pass and a Hunter’s Badge. Genesis Avatar holders get free weekly VIP perks.
Tollan also warns in its own documentation that the economy and pricing are subject to weekly adjustment, and that features can be added, changed or removed as development continues.
As of the announcement, the Purchases section of those docs still lists the VIP Pass and the Hunter’s Badge. There’s no Loot Pass entry yet.
