In Brief:

  • MapleStory Universe (official site)’s October 14 patch for MapleStory N went live with Halloween events, a revamped Mu Lung Dojo with world-integrated rankings and skill changes for six classes.
  • The same patch cuts the periodic recharge of Equipment and Outfit NFT items by roughly 50% across most reward sources.
  • The developer said the cut is meant “to balance the supply and demand of Equipment and Outfit NFT items and establish a more stable item circulation environment.”

MapleStory N is cutting how many NFT items it hands out. Its October 14 patch, which also brings Halloween events and an overhauled Mu Lung Dojo, lowers the periodic recharge of most Equipment and Outfit NFT rewards by about 50%.

MapleStory Universe announced the update on X. “October Halloween update is live!” the post said. Full patch notes went up on msu.io dated Oct. 15.

NFT supply cut

The change covers every reward on the Reward Dashboard except NESO, Power Crystal, Florin, Nodestone, coupons, Special Skill Ring Chests and items with unlimited periodic recharge. Field Rewards, Content Raffles and Exchange Shop Raffles all drop about 50%.

Boss Raffles mostly follow the same cut, but some sources fall harder. Lotus (Normal) and Damien (Normal) coins go from 2582.115 to 1233, a 52% drop. Their Armor and Accessories go from three to one, or 67%. Lucid (Normal) and Will (Normal) coins fall from 2756.142 to 1554, a 44% drop.

Some slots barely change. Absolab Coins from one Lotus (Hard) slot and Stigma Coins from one Damien (Hard) slot each go from 1280.235 to 1233, down 4%. Weapon A raffles for Stigma Coin and Absolab Coin B stay at five per period.

Amounts already recharged and accumulated stay in place. The lower rates apply starting with the first distribution after maintenance.

Mu Lung Dojo goes world-wide

Starting after the Oct. 15 maintenance, Mu Lung Dojo rankings run on one world-integrated board instead of separate boards for each world. Only records set after the October 14 patch count, so players who ran the Dojo earlier have to run it again.

The weekly reset moves from Monday to Thursday at 00:00 UTC. Ranking titles used to go to the top three in each class on each world. Now they go to the top 10 in each class across all worlds. Champion titles, for first through third place, grant ATT/M.ATT +20, All Stats +30 and Boss Damage +10%.

A new Badge system awards tiers from Iron to Master based on the previous week’s class ranking percentage and minimum floor. Master requires the top 5% of a class and Floor 50. Iron requires Floor 30, with no percentage threshold.

Badge tier sets how many Training Chamber Coupons a player gets each week, from 10 for Unranked to 30 for Master. The Path of So Gong event becomes Path of Badges. The Unity Training Center closes, and entry ends Nov. 11 at 23:59 UTC.

There’s no prior ranking data in the first week, Oct. 15 to Oct. 21. Coupons that week are based on cleared floor alone and stop at the Gold tier.

Six classes adjusted

The balance pass targets Night Lord, Pathfinder, Night Walker, Dual Blade, Arch Mage (Fire/Poison) and Aran. The developer said it “adjusted classes that displayed relatively lower combat efficiency in boss battles, while also improving convenience features for certain classes.”

Night Lord’s Shurrikane cooldown drops from 25 seconds to 20, and Sudden Raid damage at Lv. 30 rises from 494% to 660%. Night Walker’s Shadow Bite boss damage at Lv. 25 goes from 1,350% to 2,433%. Dual Blade’s Shadow Meld loses its evasion-triggered buff and gets Weapon ATT +15 instead.

Fire/Poison Arch Mage gets shorter action delays on nine skills, including a 45% cut for Poison Mist. Elemental Fury’s cooldown falls from 75 seconds to 60. Aran’s High Mastery Final Damage rises from 15% to 21% at Lv. 30.

The patch also raises the Special Skill Ring Polish max level from two to three.

Halloween events

Hallowkitty’s Candy Party runs from Oct. 15 to Oct. 28 for drops, with the Cat-O-Lantern buff lasting until Nov. 11. It’s open to Minted Characters level 65 and up. The buff tops out at 10% Bonus EXP, 10% Ignore DEF and +20 All Stats. A rare drop can be traded for the Oversized Halloween Candy Chair NFT item.

Happy Halloween Weekend gives a gift box each weekend from Oct. 17 to Nov. 8, with 500 Halloween Pumpkin Coins plus up to 500 more depending on registered friends. Ghoulbusters starts Oct. 29. The Halloween Pumpkin Farm, open to characters level 130 to 274 with MVP Bronze rank or higher, sends players after up to 500 Ripe Pumpkins in 15 minutes.

Players can also spend NESO on Pumpkin Coins. A Halloween Pumpkin Coin Box costs 300,000 NESO for 250 coins. A 100,000 NESO pouch pays out a random amount, with a 1% chance at 1,000 coins.

An X sharing event, Too Sweet to Keep Secret!, runs for 12 hours on Oct. 17. Players who post and then submit a verification form receive 10 3x EXP Coupons and five Pumpkin Field Keys.

Spin or Treat

Crimson Night now offers Halloween Mystery Tickets, and each one trades for a Spiegelmann’s Black Rebirth Flame. Players can also put tickets on a roulette wheel run by Gas Mask through Nov. 11.

The 2x spin wins 45% of the time, 3x wins 30% and 5x wins 18%. A loss burns the tickets. Players can put in up to 10 tickets per spin, and the patch notes said a 5x win on 10 tickets “will be announced to all Maplers via a world notification.”
