OG.com has launched OG.com Rips, a pack-opening feature in its mobile app and on its website. You buy a digital pack, watch an animated rip, and the card you pull is a real physical trading card. You then pick between taking a cash buyback or having the card shipped to you. It’s live now in the United States on the web and in the OG.com app for iOS and Android, and it’s open to users 18 and over.

Packs cover four categories: NFL, NBA, MLB and Pokémon. Each category has six tiers: Rookie, Emerald, Ruby, Titan, Legend and OG Eternal. OG.com says every tier shows the odds of each card and lists the headline “grails” in its pool. Those range from rookie QB patch autos and signed NBA Prizm cards to vintage 1st Edition Pokémon holos.

How a rip works

You pay for packs with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a credit or debit card. There’s no wallet to top up beforehand. After you buy, the app plays an animated ripping sequence that you can record and post to X, Instagram or TikTok with one tap.

Each card you pull goes into a personal in-app Vault. The Vault shows a rarity grade, tracks your portfolio and puts a buyback offer on the card. OG.com says the physical card is held at the same time by a certified third-party vault custody network.

You then have seven days to decide what to do with the card:

  • Cash buyback: accept the offer at any point in the window. The money goes into your account balance straight away, with no selling fees and no haggling with a buyer.
  • Physical redemption: request tracked, insured delivery to your address with one tap.

If you don’t choose by the end of the seven days, the app treats that as accepting the buyback. OG.com pitches this as protection against forgotten cards or a drop in market prices. It also means you can’t leave a pull sitting in the Vault: you either ship it or it gets sold back.

Why OG.com is doing this

The company is aiming at the crowd watching live unboxings and pack breaks on social media. Its argument is that the usual route to a card is slowed down by marketplace listings and secondary transaction fees, so Rips puts finding, buying and opening a card in one place.

“OG.com was built around letting fans and consumers act on what they know across sports and culture, and OG.com Rips is a natural extension of that ethos,” said Kris Marszalek, Founder and CEO of OG.com. “Pack ripping is an immediate, physical parallel to the experience OG.com is known for. Bringing the adrenaline of the live pack rip into an app purpose built for a community that lives for sports and culture, OG.com Rips is a natural next step for us with much more to come.”

The fine print

OGMUS offers OG.com Rips, and the feature is covered by its own terms and conditions. OG.com says Rips is not regulated by the CFTC and does not offer CFTC-regulated products. That keeps it separate from OG.com Markets, the company’s CFTC-regulated exchange and clearinghouse for prediction market contracts on sports, financials, economics and culture, which also offers crypto perpetual futures. The NFL, NBA, MLB and Pokémon brand owners are not parties to the card sales.
