In Brief:

  • Aurory (official site) will take the Amiko Legends (official site) demo offline on Nov. 2, according to a post on the game’s Steam page dated Oct. 29.
  • The studio said it has the data and player feedback it needed and is going back to work on requested features, bug fixes, balance, new biomes, quests and Amiko.
  • There’s still no Early Access launch date. Demo progress won’t carry over to the full game.

Aurory will shut down the Amiko Legends demo on Nov. 2, less than four weeks after it went live on Steam.

“The demo will shut down on November 2nd,” the studio said in a Steam post titled “Demo shutdown: the road to Early Access.”

Demo shutdown: the road to Early Access
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for playing the Amiko Legends demo and sharing your feedback!

The post didn’t give a launch window. “We don’t have an Early Access date to share yet, but we’ll keep you updated here and on our socials,” Aurory AURY $0.02302 ▲ +0.4% said.

Back to development

Aurory said the demo did its job. “We now have the data and player feedback we needed, so the team is going back to work to add the most requested features, fix bugs, improve,” the studio said on X.

The longer Steam version lists the work ahead: adding the most requested features, fixing bugs, improving balance and adding new biomes, quests and Amiko. The studio also asked players to suggest content they’d like to see, such as behind-the-scenes material or design explanations, through the Steam forum or Discord.

Players who logged runs in the demo won’t keep them. Aurory said demo progress won’t transfer to the full game, which matches what it told players at launch: progress would not carry over because parts of the game’s progression were still being tuned.

A short window

The demo went live Oct. 7 with patch notes and a Q&A post. It then ran as part of Steam Next Fest, which Aurory marked with posts on Oct. 19 and Oct. 27. The shutdown notice came two days after the festival wrap-up.

Aurory said from the start that the demo would only be available for a limited time. It was English only and PC-focused. It included PvP, and co-op PvE is planned. Other platforms haven’t been announced.

Aurory has pitched the game as “Pokémon meets ARC Raiders.” Players charm wild Amiko, fight with them in turn-based combat and have to reach an extraction point to keep what they find. The Steam page describes a world where “Amiko populations shift, ecosystems respond, and discoveries change over time.”

The path to Steam

The demo followed a closed beta on Steam. Aurory opened it with a welcome post on June 16, shipped a patch on June 22 and announced on July 21 that the beta had closed.

The studio has said it’s aiming for Early Access by the end of 2026. It plans to sell the game on Steam as a one-time purchase. It hasn’t set a price.

The Steam store page lists Aurory as developer and publisher and still shows the game as “coming soon.” Minimum specs call for Windows 11, an Intel i5-10400 or Ryzen 5 3600, 8GB of RAM, a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT and 15GB of storage.

Background

Amiko Legends started out as Seekers of Tokane (official site). Aurory renamed the game on Oct. 31, 2025, and Nefties became Amiko. Seekers of Tokane launched in November 2023 and opened to all players on the Epic Games Store in February 2024.

At the time of the rebrand, the game’s token economy stayed in place. Players earned OKA by winning with a full squad of Prime Amiko, the NFT version, and TOKE by winning with Standard Amiko or a mixed squad. AURY was also used for rewards.

The Steam store page doesn’t mention blockchain or NFT features. Aurory hasn’t said how the Steam release relates to the earlier Epic Games Store version, which asks players to link a Solana wallet when they create an account.

The studio ended the Oct. 29 post with a thank-you: “Hi everyone, Thank you so much for playing the Amiko Legends demo and sharing your feedback!”
