Bit Hotel

What is Bit Hotel?

Bit Hotel is a social-first play-to-earn game built around a retro 8-bit hotel that functions as a persistent hangout rather than a level to beat. Players move through a shared lobby, drop into other people's rooms, and spend most of their time on the two things the design actually cares about: talking to other players and competing in short mini-games. Everything in the hotel is collectable — rooms, characters, furniture and assorted artifacts, each with rarity tiers and perks attached — so a room is both a personal social hub and a display case. The game went into beta in 2022 and reached mobile in 2023, and its on-chain layer has widened over time from BNB Chain to Moonbeam and Etherlink, Tezos's layer 2, rather than staying on a single network.

How to play Bit Hotel

Getting in means connecting a crypto wallet and creating an account, after which the lobby is open and free to wander. The core loop is the mini-game circuit: enter competitive rounds against other guests, win, and collect BTH tokens and tickets for placing well, topping leaderboards or clearing daily tasks. Your own room is the second loop — furnish it, host gatherings and mini-games in it, and show off the NFTs you have collected. There is also a landlord layer that few social games bother with: on-chain renting and loaning lets you rent or sublet your room to another player, so a well-placed room can produce income without you being logged in.

Bit Hotel tokenomics & earning

The economy runs on two instruments rather than one. BTH is the native token: it settles transactions, pays out rewards and buys entry into the token-gated mini-games, and it is acquired the ordinary way by funding a wallet with gas and swapping for it. Alongside it sit Bit Hotel Tickets, a synthetic reward token earned from mini-game wins, leaderboard finishes and daily tasks, which are spent on native NFT assets in the primary market. Splitting the two means casual play feeds the ticket economy without needing to buy BTH first. Earnings depend on competitive results and on the rental market rather than on a fixed emission, so read the project's own tokenomics for current rates before treating it as income.

Our verdict on Bit Hotel

Bit Hotel is a browser-based social hub built around a hotel metaphor, where the building and decorating layer sits on top of an NFT economy rather than beside it. Rooms, characters and furniture are tokenised assets on BNB Chain, and the Bit Hotel token doubles as a governance instrument and the means of acquiring those native NFTs. The pitch is explicitly social-first: the point is congregating in shared spaces and collecting, not clearing solo content.

What works is the framing. A hotel is a legible container for a metaverse — floors, rooms and lobbies give ownership something to attach to, and putting governance and item acquisition through the same token keeps the economy simple to explain. Building as the primary genre also means progress is visible, which suits a space people are meant to hang around in.

What does not work as well is that the description is almost entirely economic. Nothing on offer explains the moment-to-moment activity — what you do between buying an NFT and showing it off — and a play-to-earn design that leans on token demand carries the usual risk that the social layer thins out when incentives do. Single-chain deployment on BNB also ties the whole economy to one network.

It suits collectors and social players comfortable with a BNB Chain wallet, rather than anyone looking for deep building mechanics.

This is our own editorial assessment. We do not score games — ratings come from players.
