Continuum World
What is Continuum World?
Continuum World is a free-to-play MMO with a play-and-earn economy. You explore a new world, acquire land, put up buildings and gather resources, and UM — the game's native token — is what the whole loop pays out in. Entry is free, and land is the thing you buy rather than the thing you need to start.
Land, and the Wildlands
Owning NFT Land makes you part of the world: you gather resources on it, add buildings to it, and can earn UM by sharing it with other players who want somewhere to work. Beyond the settled areas lie the Wildlands, and the trade-off is explicit — land is the safer bet, the Wildlands pay far better and are genuinely dangerous. You do not have to go alone: Vacumi and UMibot are companions who travel with you, help you discover the world and gain new abilities as you improve them.
Birdums
The game's other half is its wildlife. Birdums are a bird-like native species of Continuum World, and they race. Players capture, raise, train and breed them to improve their performance and uncover their abilities, which turns a collecting game into a competitive one. A whitepaper and an in-game encyclopedia — the Encyclopedium — are published for anyone who wants the detail before starting.

Our verdict on Continuum World
Continuum World is a browser-based massively multiplayer world-building game on Ethereum, where the loop is land ownership rather than combat: you claim territory, put up buildings, and those buildings generate resources over time. Progression comes from levelling up what you have built, with competitive and social layers on top, and the game's own $UM token as the reward currency.
What works is the choice of genre. City- and settlement-building is one of the few formats where on-chain land actually earns its place — a plot you own is a plot that keeps producing, so ownership has a mechanical purpose beyond speculation. The free-to-play entry point also means you can look before you spend.
What does not work as well is the framing. The official pitch stacks free-to-play, play-to-earn, MMO and token language into a single sentence without saying what a session actually involves — how long a build takes, what limits land supply, or what backs $UM. Without a named studio publicly attached, judging long-term commitment is harder still.
It suits players who enjoy slow-burn resource management and are curious about token-based ownership. Anyone wanting fast action, or clear answers on token economics before committing, should look elsewhere.
