Axie Infinity (official site) enables summoning of new Origin axies
Axie Infinity has opened the redemption process for Atia Original Crystals on App.axie, allowing players to create new Origin axies. This follows a long waiting period since the original presale in 2018, enabling players to summon axies with the possibility of Mystic attributes.
Players can combine five Atia Original Crystals to summon a single Origin axie. Each axie has six body parts—eyes, ears, horn, mouth, back, and tail—with each part having a separate 7% chance to become Mystic during the roll. The mechanics allow for multiple Mystic parts on a single axie, though having two or more is rare.
As of now, there are 1,375 Atia Original Crystals remaining. This limited supply can create up to 275 new Origin axies. The snapshot shows 1,232 AOC held in a Sky Mavis wallet and 143 across other addresses. The AOC have transitioned to Ronin after their original system was retired in early 2022, and the remaining tokens have been reserved for community engagement and rewards.
A history of AOC
Atia Original Crystals trace back to Axie’s inception, serving as referral tokens in the presale. Initially, five AOC could be burned on Ethereum for an Origin axie, a system that was phased out in early 2022. The recent return of AOC to summoning reflects renewed interest in the series.
How to summon an Origin axie
To summon a new axie, players must:
- Access App.axie and connect their wallet.
- Click the grid icon and select “Summon an Origin Axie.”
- Choose to summon with five AOC.
- Sign the transaction in their wallet.
With rolling opportunities limited, players are encouraged to act fast.
Every Origin’s chances of carrying a Mystic part are significant. Statistically, nearly one in three rolls results in at least one Mystic part, reinforcing participation. The next roll could potentially yield the first axie with more than four Mystic parts.
For collectors and participants, the Crystals have been waiting since 2018. Players can finally act on their opportunity to roll their own Origin axie.
