The Axie team’s fifth Lab Log entry covers two games. Atia’s Legacy is being prepared for a Steam release and is adding multiplayer PvE. Terrariums is running its first limited-time event and building Hosted Land Plots, a system that lets landowners and axie owners share one plot.

Both games have had updates since Entry #4. Atia’s Legacy opened up PvP to players, and Terrariums launched, so collections now fuel Atia’s Flame. The team says everything in this entry is work in progress: features, designs and timing may change during testing, and a preview does not guarantee a release.

Atia’s Legacy is heading to Steam

The last Atia’s Legacy playtest was a few months ago. The team wants the Steam release to reach players outside the Axie community, so it is building for two groups: longtime Lunacians and Steam players who have never owned an axie. Along with new content, it is working on the interface, onboarding and PC performance so new players can pick up the game quickly and have reasons to come back.

The next milestone is the game’s Steam page. The next playtest opens at the same time.

New enemies, maps and bosses

Earlier playtests covered both PvE and PvP, and the team says each mode needs enough depth to work on its own. For PvE, that starts with more enemies. The art team has new enemy concepts for Lunacia, and each design goes into the world for testing before the team decides which ones stay.

New maps and bosses are also in progress, so encounters can test players in different ways. The team labels this material as concept art and in-development designs, and says some of it may change or never ship.

Loadouts

Loadouts were one of the most requested features in previous playtests, and they are now in development. The current prototype saves up to five gear presets, so players can set up builds ahead of time and switch between them from one screen without reshuffling equipment mid-session.

First look at multiplayer PvE

Up to now, players have cleared dungeons solo and fought each other in the arena. Multiplayer PvE puts them on the same side, with dungeons and boss encounters becoming shared challenges.

The first footage shows PangoLord, a boss built for parties of three. It also shows the new PC interface, built alongside these encounters for the PC release. The clip comes from an early build, and the team says the encounter, the multiplayer experience, the interface and the visuals are all still being tested. It has asked players which bosses they’d want to team up against and what role they’d take in a party.

Terrariums: the first limited-time event

The first limited-time Terrariums event runs through November 7. During the event, Nightmare axies and accessories contribute extra Atia’s Flame.

This is also the team’s first test of a rotating meta. So far, a strong lineup has mostly meant relying on the same familiar Flame contributors. A temporary boost changes that, so an axie or accessory players had passed over may now be worth slotting in. The team wants to know whether different parts, collections or body types could take turns in the spotlight. Players with broader collections have more options each time the boost moves.

After the event ends on November 7, the team will review the data and player feedback, then decide whether to repeat, adjust or expand the approach.

Hosted Land Plots

Some Lunacians own land but not enough axies to fill it. Others own axies with nowhere to put them. Hosted Land Plots is meant to connect the two. Under the idea being explored, a landowner opens their plot to guests and guest axies add Atia’s Flame to it. The host earns a share of the plot’s rewards for providing the land, and guests split the rest based on how much Flame each one brings.

The planned flow, as the team describes it:

  • Hosts open a plot, set their host share and choose how guests can join.
  • Hosts can review each request themselves or set auto-accept rules, such as a minimum Flame contribution.
  • Hosts can create an invite code and send it directly to a friend or guildmate.
  • Guests can browse hosted plots, compare their terms and apply to one that fits their collection.

The team is still working out how costs could be shared between hosts and guests, along with the detailed participation rules. The target window is November 12, and the team says final mechanics will be confirmed before launch and more details will come later.

The team describes the entry’s common thread as more ways for Lunacians to take part: Atia’s Legacy is expanding for existing players and newcomers, and Terrariums is rotating which collections get a boost and opening land to shared play. Entry #6 is the next scheduled update.
