Konami is marking Castlevania’s 40th birthday by putting the series’ music on a stage. And not a polite stage, either: a 25-piece power rock orchestra is taking these tracks to Tokyo, London and Los Angeles.
The biggest draw for anyone following the series right now is that the show will include the first-ever live performance of music from the upcoming Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. The rest of the set runs from the very first Castlevania game through the modern era.
The setlist has the songs you’d hope for
Konami confirmed a few specific tracks: Bloody Tears, Vampire Killer, Divine Bloodlines and Dracula’s Castle from Symphony of the Night. If those names alone start a bassline in your head, you’re the audience for this.
Lambert Jackson productions created the symphony. Composer Adam Hoskins wrote all-new arrangements and orchestrations for it. He’s the person behind the Undertale: The Determination Symphony World Tour, which went viral, so he has done this kind of thing before and done it well.
When tickets go on sale
The concert plays three dates in March 2027. Tickets are sold through the event’s official website, and each city opens on October 1:
Los Angeles tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. PT. London tickets go on sale at 12 p.m. BST. Tokyo works differently, with a lottery-based pre-sale that begins at 12 p.m. JST. General ticket sales for Tokyo will open at a later date.
Why this music suits a rock orchestra
Castlevania has had its own musical signature since the first game came out in the 80s. Composer Michiru Yamane popularized it in Symphony of the Night: symphonic rock and ripping melodies that don’t sound like any other franchise in the industry. A power rock orchestra is less a reinterpretation than the music finally getting the lineup it always implied.
This concert is officially licensed by Konami, and it’s one of the only Castlevania concerts to get the publisher’s blessing.
If March feels too far away
Spooky season is here, and you don’t have to wait. In 2019 the Youth Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra performed nearly two hours of the series’ songs, with a special performance from Michiru Yamane herself.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, the next game in the series, releases on October 15, 2026. That gives you about five months to learn its music before you hear it played live by 25 people with guitars and strings.
