Funcom just cut the PC price of Dune: Awakening in half. The open-world survival multiplayer game drops from its standard €49.99 to €24.99 on Steam, and the deal runs until October 1st.
The timing isn’t random. Dune: Awakening lands on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22, and the PC discount is Funcom’s way of marking the console launch. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to head to Arrakis on PC, this is a decent one.
The bundles got cut too
The discount isn’t limited to the base game. Every available bundle is marked down as well.
The Deluxe Edition now sits at €44.99. The Ultimate Edition, which normally goes for €89.99, has been reduced to €64.99. Both premium versions provide access to additional content beyond the standard game.
So the math works out to a €25 saving on the Ultimate Edition and the base game at half price. Not bad for a game that’s only been out on PC for a matter of months.
Console players get their turn on September 22
The PS5 and Xbox versions are expected on September 22. And if you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you’ll be able to play it at no extra cost, which makes the console side of this launch the cheaper way in for anyone already paying for the subscription.
What you’re getting
Dune: Awakening is a survival MMO/open-world game set in the Dune universe, developed by Funcom. You return to Arrakis, a massive open world filled with sandworms and hostile territories to explore.
There’s a combat system, but survival and crafting carry a lot of the weight. Resource management, gear and base building are essential to the experience, so expect to spend as much time gathering and constructing as you do fighting.
The €24.99 price holds until October 1st. After that, it’s back to €49.99 and the sandworms will still be there waiting for you.
