  • FIFA Rivals (official site) sent the second week of its Stars of the Week lineup into packs, five players drawn from the previous weekend’s real fixtures.
  • The week’s chase Star isn’t purchasable. It’s won through the weekend flash, which also pays out one fragment toward a Star of the Month whose identity stays hidden until the Monday of week four.
  • The weekly format runs across the 26/27 season and follows the World Cup 2026 All-Stars program, which closed Aug. 16.

FIFA Rivals pushed five new Stars into packs and held the week’s headline player back, keeping the chase behind a weekend gameplay event rather than pack odds.

“Real matches. Real picks,” the game’s account posted. “Week 2’s five Stars drop in packs today. Chase arrives in the weekend flash.”

The announcement didn’t name the five. Stars of the Week puts footballers into packs every Tuesday at 3 p.m. UTC, with the selections keyed to how players performed in the previous weekend’s real matches. Chapter 1 opened Aug. 25.

Buying packs doesn’t get you the chase Star. That player is only obtainable through the weekend flash, the same structural split Mythical used through the summer program: pack content on one track, gameplay-gated content on the other.

A player nobody has seen yet

Running underneath the weekly drops is a slower collection. Every flash awards one fragment of a Star of the Month, released in a fixed order: Vision, then Heart, Form, Mind and Soul. The identity isn’t revealed until the Monday of week four, so players accumulate the pieces without knowing who they build.

The five-fragment structure isn’t new to the game. It’s the same assembly system FIFA Rivals uses for its Mythical content, where collecting all five combines into the associated player, or a single fragment can be burned to level that player instead.

The fragments carry different upgrade values. Vision is worth 25 XP, Heart 50, Form 150, Mind 500 and Soul 600, which puts the reveal order from cheapest to most valuable.

What week one looked like

Chapter 1 listed Arda Güler of Turkey, Florian Thauvin of France and Bremer of Brazil as its Legendaries. Nobel Mendy and Lamine Camara also featured, with Jack Hinshelwood as the chase Star and Raphinha and Martin Ødegaard as Assembly Mythicals.

Before this

Stars of the Week replaced the FIFA World Cup 2026 All-Stars program, a three-week event that brought tournament standouts back at their highest power ratings and ended Aug. 16.

That program centered on 121-power Assembly Mythicals: Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, Achraf Hakimi and Unai Simón. Legendary Chase Flash Events landed every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, available through gameplay only and never in packs, each carrying a fragment toward that week’s Mythical. Miss the window and the player was gone.

Collecting all three weekly fragments opened a Sunday Mythical Chase Flash Event paying out the week’s headline player at 122 power. Fragments from the program have traded on the secondary market since it closed.

The game

Mythical Games and FIFA announced the title in November 2024 and launched it worldwide June 12, 2025. It’s free to play, puts the user in a general manager role building a custom roster for head-to-head PvP, and runs its in-game and web marketplaces on Mythos.

It hit 1 million downloads within six weeks of launch, the fastest any Mythical release has reached that number. Those first million players logged more than 5 million matches, producing 16 million goals, 14 million interceptions, 7 million Supers and 4 million saves.

Mythical also holds a multi-year partnership with OneFootball, announced in June 2025, that feeds live stats and player stories into gameplay, and an adidas licensing deal covering tradable digital boots, a match ball and jerseys.

At launch, Mythical Games CEO John Linden said the game was “blending high-energy arcade gameplay with team-building strategy and actual ownership in gaming.”
