What is CyberKongz?

CyberKongz is an Ethereum-based NFT collectible project rather than a conventional downloadable game. It began in March 2021, when the artist Myoo released the Genesis collection: 1,000 randomly generated 34x34 pixel-art gorilla avatars minted at 0.01 ETH each. The IP later expanded into additional collections — up to 4,000 Baby Kongz, originally produced by pairing two Genesis Kongz and spending 600 $BANANA; 15,000 VX Kongz, voxel-style 3D avatars built for use in virtual worlds such as The Sandbox; and Genkai, an anime-styled collection issued on the Ronin network. The team also authored ERC-721x, a token standard adding on-chain locking and "guardian" wallet protection for held assets.

How to play CyberKongz

Participation is holder-driven and happens in the browser through a connected wallet; there is no game client to install. The main interactive layer is Play & Kollect, in which players send crews of one to five VX Kongz on jungle adventure runs. Runs are paid for in $BANANA and return Kongium, a resource used to level up VX Kongz and to redeem seasonal prize-pool rewards and ERC-1155 NFTs. Genesis and Baby Kongz function mainly as yield-bearing and access assets within the same ecosystem rather than as playable characters.

CyberKongz tokenomics & earning

Each Genesis Kong emitted 10 $BANANA per day under a ten-year schedule that ran until August 2025. The ecosystem then migrated to $KONG on Ethereum mainnet, converting $BANANA at a 1:25 ratio into a total supply of 1 billion tokens. Inside Play & Kollect, $BANANA spent on adventure runs was split 50% to the seasonal prize pool, 40% burned, and 10% to the project treasury.

Is CyberKongz worth playing?

CyberKongz is collection-first: meaningful participation requires buying an NFT on the secondary market, and the gameplay is light — resource gathering and progression rather than skill-based competition. Its long operating history and continued development are notable, but rewards depend on token prices and seasonal pools, and the token and chain arrangements have changed several times, so current mechanics should be checked on the official site.
