What is Roach Racing Club?

Roach Racing Club is a collectible racing game in which live crypto price movements drive race outcomes. Set in a science-fiction world the developers call the Nanoverse, it casts players as Coaches who manage a portfolio of NFT "cyber runner" roaches. The game runs on Abstract, an Ethereum layer-2 network, and uses Chainlink oracles for price data and Chainlink VRF for randomness. Its original Genesis collection consisted of 10,000 roaches distributed through a pay-what-you-want mint, with each genome generated on-chain as a set of trait slots.

How to play Roach Racing Club

Accounts are created with Abstract Global Wallet; players can also sign in by email or with an external wallet such as MetaMask or Rainbow, and an AGW is provisioned automatically on the first session. Each roach is tied to a specific crypto asset — currently BTC, ETH or PENGU — and its inherited traits affect both appearance and racing performance, with each trait carrying positive and negative effects. During a race, players follow the live chart of their roach's asset, open a directional position and close it at the right moment to earn a Boost that increases speed. Track conditions and a randomized luck factor also influence the result. Outside Pro races, roaches must be recharged before racing again.

Roach Racing Club tokenomics & earning

Several currencies are in use. XPR tracks progression earned from races, daily rewards, items and badges. MTGN (Mutagen) is the soft in-game currency, earned by winning Arcade and Advanced races, collecting coins during Pro races, completing missions, referrals and daily rewards; it is spent on charging roaches (50 MTGN), Advanced race entry (500 MTGN), buying additional roaches, and upgrading generators and batteries. TRAX corresponds to USDC and is used in Pro races, where players wager against one another. A Founder's Box collection of 1,555 lootboxes — 55 Legendary, 150 Epic, 350 Rare and 1,000 Common — included token allocations, DNA disks for breeding, wearable NFTs and in-game boosts.
