What is Debellum?

Debellum is a free-to-play competitive arena game that combines the battle royale and brawler formats into short, top-down multiplayer matches. It is built for mobile and web, with builds distributed for iOS, Android and browsers, and it runs on MegaETH, an Ethereum layer-2 network designed for high-throughput, real-time applications. Rounds are compact and self-contained: players enter a small arena, fight over a contested playing space, and the last player or team standing takes the match.

How to play Debellum

Matches are viewed from a top-down perspective and use stylised low-poly characters. On mobile the controls are split across the screen — movement on the left, attacks and abilities on the right — so no controller is required. Both solo battle royale and team-based fights are supported. Cover and obstacles inside the arena matter as much as raw aim, since positioning frequently decides the final seconds of a round, and sessions are deliberately short, closer to a drop-in mobile brawler than a long-form shooter.

Is Debellum worth playing?

Debellum opened a closed beta on iOS and Android on 18 May 2026, its first playable build outside internal development, so the game remains pre-launch. iOS testers join through TestFlight invitations sent by email, while Android testers use a supplied store link. Content, balance and performance are all still subject to change at this stage. The most distinctive element so far is a spectator layer that lets viewers watch live matches and back individual players while a round is in progress, connecting an audience directly to the game's economy. Anyone evaluating Debellum today should treat it as an early competitive title rather than a finished product — free to try, quick to learn, and best judged after a wider release.
