Card win rates

How often each card is played in ranked and how often those decks win.

No loginSaved in this browser

Which cards ranked players put in their decks, and how often those decks won. The numbers come from a labelled sample of finished ranked games from the public Gods Unchained match data. A card's win rate is the win rate of the decks that played it, so strong decks lift the cards inside them: read it as a clue, not a verdict.

Each player's deck counts once. A player who repeats the same 30 cards many times would otherwise make its cards look unbeatable, so a card counts once per different player and exact deck, with the result of that deck's first game in the sample. Small counts are still noisy: the 95 percent range shows how much.

Method

For every counted ranked game we take both 30-card decks. A deck is identified by the player and the exact 30 cards; it is counted once, with the result of its first game in the sample, so repeats do not add up. Decks is how many different player decks held the card. Inclusion is that number divided by all different ranked decks in the sample. Win rate is wins divided by decks, shown with its 95 percent Wilson range, and Vs 50% is the distance from an even game (every game has one winner, so the average over all decks is near 50). The sample is a twenty-minute slice of every hour, described under the filters. Because each deck is weighted equally, a card played only in many untested decks can read below 50 even when strong players use it. For whole gods, which count every game, see god win rates.

FAQ

What does win rate mean for a card?

Among different player decks that played the card, the share whose first game in the sample was won. It is the deck that wins, so a card in strong decks looks strong. A player who repeats a deck counts once.

What is inclusion?

The share of all different ranked player decks in the sample that played the card.

Why is there a minimum number of decks?

A card in only a few decks cannot show a real win rate; its 95 percent range is very wide. The table hides cards below the minimum you set, 100 different decks by default.
