Music in GTA has always come with a catch: it only plays in the car. In GTA 6, Rockstar is done with that rule. According to Rockstar, you’ll be able to run your favorite tracks while exploring the map, on foot, even in the middle of a firefight, no vehicle required.

If that sounds like a small tweak, consider how much of GTA’s identity has been built on the radio dial. Pulling the soundtrack out of the driver’s seat changes the texture of the whole game. The car chase gets its own score. So does the walk between missions.
Bad Bunny gets his own station
IGN recently detailed the updated radio lineup, and the notable part is that artists aren’t just contributing a song or two. Acts like Bad Bunny will have their own personal stations. Rockstar is putting more weight on the music this time around, and it shows in the station list.
The six stations revealed so far cover a lot of ground. Cocoteo FM brings Bad Bunny, Axel Rulay, Farruko, El Alfa and Romeo Santos. Back Country Radio answers with David Allan Coe, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams Jr. and Waylon Jennings.
AfroBank FM runs Asake, Pat Thomas, Ebo Taylor, DJ Lag, Robot Boii and Kamo Mphela. The Chamber 106.6 is where the heavy hitters live: Black Sabbath, Pantera and Slayer. Flash FM handles the pop side with Charli xcx, MGMT, Zara Larsson and PinkPantheress. And Dirty South Classics stacks David Banner, Lil’ Flip, JT Money, DJ Khaled, Trick Daddy, Rick Ross and Pitbull.
The date to circle
GTA 6 lands November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Which means there’s still time to decide how you want your first shootout scored: Slayer or Rick Ross.
