  • Kintara opened Europe and Asia servers, joining North America, letting players connect to the region nearest them for lower ping.
  • The browser MMO has drawn about 20,540 monthly active players since its May 22 launch, with servers repeatedly filling to capacity.
  • The expansion follows weeks of full servers and rising demand for $KINS, the token players must hold to enter the game.

Kintara opened regional servers in Europe and Asia, ending a stretch in which every player, wherever they logged in from, connected through North America.

The Solana MMO announced the move on its official account. Players “can choose the region nearest to them for lower ping and smoother adventures,” the team said. Inventory carries across servers, but players on different servers don’t share the same world.

Full servers forced the issue

The rollout came after weeks of servers hitting capacity. On June 13 the team said its newly opened Server 9 filled the moment it went live, along with every other server running at the time.

“Server 9 just opened and it (along with every other server) instantly filled up 🤯 Our top priority right now is raising player limits across all servers while keeping scalability smooth,” the team said.

Kintara launched May 22 and has pulled in roughly 20,540 monthly active players. Peak concurrent users have sat between 800 and 1,300 across its servers. The game has recorded $450,000 in in-game transactions, with daily player-to-player marketplace activity around $54,000.

How it works

Kintara runs entirely in the browser. Players connect a Solana wallet, and the game requires holding 1,000 KINS to initialize a character. From there the loop is gathering, crafting, questing, PvP and trading, closer to RuneScape than to the automated earning models common in the sector.

$KINS doubles as the in-game currency and a governance token. It trades on LBank, PumpSwap and Meteora, with the KINS/USDT pair on LBank turning over about $7.19 million in 24-hour volume. The token hit an all-time high market cap of $22.9 million on June 18.

Infrastructure came first

The regional servers land weeks after a broader backend overhaul. In a June 19 announcement the team said it had migrated the game to new infrastructure.

“Kintara servers have now been officially migrated. This new infrastructure gives us a much stronger foundation to support more players, reduce lag, improve responsiveness, and scale more smoothly as demand grows over the next few days,” the team said.

That work laid the groundwork for splitting players across continents rather than funneling international traffic through a single region.

Background

Kintara has been credited with helping restart activity in Solana gaming, a segment that had gone quiet. The traction runs against a stance taken by Solana Foundation leadership earlier this year, which held that games of this type would not regain relevance on blockchains. Other on-chain titles, including FarmTown, have seen players return over the same period.

Because character growth is tied to skill levels in mining, woodcutting and combat, and because gathering and fighting need active input, the design leaves little room for the automated farming that plagues many crypto games. That hasn’t kept bots out entirely.

The team has banned more than 4,000 bot accounts, saying it brought out the “Ban Hammer” against accounts that were manipulating the market and dragging down the economy, and layered on additional detection systems, restrictions and preventative measures. Kintara now sends suspected accounts a human-verification challenge and auto-bans them for 24 hours if they don’t solve it within five minutes.
