In Brief:
- LOL Land (official site) shuts off permanently July 31, and the game issued what it called its final reminder for players to manually redeem in-game points for $YGG and finish unstaking $LOL inside the app.
- The closure follows Yield Guild Games (official site)’ July 6 decision to sunset YGG Play (official site), which cut 35 jobs and ended the guild’s game publishing business.
- Anything left unprocessed at the cutoff gets converted automatically and pushed to associated wallets after a snapshot, with no manual support available afterward.
LOL Land posted its last warning to players this week ahead of a July 31 shutoff, telling holders it’s their “absolute last opportunity to manually redeem your in-game points for $YGG and complete your $LOL unstaking directly in the game app.”
Two things need doing before the deadline. Points balances have to be redeemed for $YGG on the rewards page with a connected wallet, and staked $LOL has to be unstaked through the game.
The final reminder is here.
LOL Land goes offline permanently on July 31st. This is your absolute last opportunity to manually redeem your in-game points for $YGG and complete your $LOL unstaking directly in the game app.

Miss it and the balances don’t vanish. YGG Play said compliant balances not processed by the deadline will be converted automatically and distributed to associated wallets following a snapshot taken at the cutoff. But no manual support will exist after that date.
The wind-down schedule
YGG Play published its shutdown guide July 8 Singapore time. Purchase functions and all platform mission systems for LOL Land and Waifu Sweeper were switched off at 3 p.m. Singapore time on July 9.
July 31 is the last day of platform support. After that, yggplay.fun, the launchpad at app.yggplay.fun and the community missions site at community.yggplay.fun all go offline permanently.
Waifu Sweeper closes alongside LOL Land. GIGACHADBAT and Ragnarok Breaker keep running under their developers, Delabs Games (official site) and Planetarium Labs (official site).
Why the publishing arm died
Yield Guild Games announced the sunset July 6, eliminating 35 positions and redirecting resources toward supplying gaming-derived datasets for AI training.
“Sunsetting YGG Play is a heavy decision, but it is a market decision, not a product decision,” Yield Guild Games co-founder Gabby Dizon said.
The headline numbers weren’t the problem. YGG Play cleared more than $9 million in lifetime revenue through Q1 2026 and peaked near $3 million in a single month in October 2025. Revenue slid steadily after that.
Dizon pointed to the Oct. 10 liquidation event as a key element in draining market confidence and, with it, the liquidity of the casual degen audience YGG Play was built to serve. The company said the 10/10 crash fundamentally altered retail market psychology and that it didn’t expect either the crypto consumer market or the web3 publishing market to recover enough in the near term.
“I am proud of what this team achieved under such tough conditions,” Dizon said. “Although this business unit is sunsetting, YGG’s vision and mission hasn’t changed. We are still fully dedicated to using technology to open up new economic opportunities for people globally.”
What LOL Land was
LOL Land started as YGG Play’s proof of concept. On the back of it, the unit signed nine additional games, partnered with Pudgy Penguins and launched a token launchpad.
$LOL was the game’s loyalty and reward token, built to power a VIP system where staking unlocked perks, higher withdrawal limits and premium gameplay. It was designed as a DEX-only asset with no planned exchange listings. $YGG remains the ecosystem token trading on both centralized and decentralized venues, and it’s what points convert into.
The AI turn
YGG’s treasury stood at $20.6 million at the end of Q1, including $6.2 million in stablecoins, T-bills and large-cap tokens. Killing the publishing unit and restructuring stretched the runway to four years.
The new business sells gaming behavioral data to AI labs training world models, systems that learn how physical and 3D environments behave, with applications in robotics and in building in-game agents that don’t run on scripts. Dizon said the guild’s community “can generate these behavioral datasets just by playing.”
YGG ran an AI Game Jam and launched Vibecode.Game, a creator contest platform for AI-assisted game development, on July 13.
The token and the core organization continue. More than 5,000 crypto jobs have been cut in 2026 so far, with companies citing the market slump and a reorientation toward AI.
Dizon declined to read the closure as a verdict on the sector, calling it “specific to our circumstances” and “not prescriptive for the industry,” and naming Axie, Gigaverse and OnChain Heroes as teams still making it work.
