MapleStory Universe kicked off Season 2 of MapleStory Vibe Camp on August 18, 2026, inviting developers to create original games utilizing official MapleStory IP. The jam runs for four weeks, concluding on September 15, 2026, with winners announced on October 8.
This season emphasizes quick gameplay loops, requiring submissions to feature one- to two-minute sessions. Participants are encouraged to design mechanics that players can grasp within three seconds and create real-time arcade action where mistakes have significant consequences.
New AI collaboration
A key feature this season is the introduction of an AI Brainstorming Persona, aimed at enhancing the development process. This tool assists builders in refining concepts before coding, challenging their ideas and suggesting innovative gameplay twists.
While the first season explored various genres, Season 2 centers on developing games that prioritize player retention and replayability. Builders have continuous access to official MapleStory lore, characters, and assets during the design process, enriching their submissions.
Participation details and incentives
Participation is free. Builders can enter by logging into Verse8, connecting their MSU Builder account for weekly AI credit refills, and submitting their projects before the deadline. The total prize pool of $15,000 will be distributed in NXPC tokens, with awards for overall excellence, category distinctions, and community favorites.
Last season saw 693 submissions, generating over 88,000 organic plays and integrating 341,253 official assets. This next phase aims to build on that success while refining the focus on immediate gameplay satisfaction.
