Oxalis Games’ Moonfrost will debut in Steam Early Access on October 12. The price is set at $14.99, as confirmed on September 29 alongside a new trailer.

Features available at launch
The initial build of Moonfrost offers roughly 50 percent of the main storyline, allowing players to explore the Temple up to Level 19 and tackle new puzzles. Players can befriend 11 NPCs, with relationships developing to Level 3.
A rebuilding mechanic features prominently. Players will clear debris, repair streets, and revive the village step by step.
Enhancements in Early Access
The Early Access release introduces quality of life improvements and customization options. Players can expect expanded character customization, a new in-game map, updated quest tracking, and additional crafting puzzles for decor.
This launch is just the start; the team plans to add more story content, characters, and features during Early Access.
Continuous updates from the development team
This announcement builds on months of updates on Steam. A demo localized in Japanese was released on July 27. Dev diaries from August illustrated enhancements to NPC routines and new pixel art.
On September 10, the team reflected on four years of development, noting their consistent goal: to create a rich world filled with engaging stories and characters.

Transition from web3
The Steam release signals the end of Moonfrost’s web3 journey. Initially partnered with Open Loot in March 2025, the project transitioned away from blockchain after realizing it could not concurrently serve both web2 and web3 players effectively.
The upcoming Steam version will not feature crypto, NFTs, or blockchain elements. Instead, it focuses solely on gameplay. Web3 supporters can still engage through Frost Arcade, which retains certain in-game items for use in multiplayer modes.
