Mobile launch completes five-year journey
Parallel TCG has launched on mobile app stores, marking a significant milestone for Parallel Studios. The game transitioned from collectible cards to a competitive trading card game (TCG) with a solid foundation, as indicated by its impressive secondary trading volume exceeding $125 million since its collectibles debut during the NFT boom.
The development timeline has been extended. After a closed beta in July 2023, the game introduced its first expansion set, Planetfall, in October. Players gained access to an open beta in February 2024, with the game establishing a free-to-play model on PC shortly thereafter. This progress was coupled with a successful funding round that netted $35 million in March 2024.
Simultaneously, the PRIME token reached an all-time high of $28, although it has since declined by over 98%.
Consistent growth through expansions
The studio did not pause during the market downturn. In mid-2024, the game launched on the Epic Games Store, followed by the Aftermath expansion, which introduced 90 new cards in late 2024. The third expansion, Deception, rolled out in 2025, along with a 90% supply reduction for earlier sets. A targeted Android beta was implemented in the Philippines to enhance the mobile user experience.
Commitment to esports
Beyond gameplay, Parallel Studios aims to embed Parallel in the esports sector. The Parallel League Championship, held at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas, kicked off with a $250,000 prize pool, with subsequent seasons supported by $1 million and $2 million in funding, respectively.
The global mobile launch contributes to this esports vision, facilitating broader access as a cross-platform free-to-play TCG. Unlike many web3 games, Parallel integrates NFTs as an optional layer to enhance PRIME earnings, establishing a distinct position in the market.
